A Double and a sling for the newb?

Nemoandthefishes · 16/02/2009 06:50

abc everest with toddler seat on top?

I had 3 in 3.2yrs and just made ds walk[cruel mum], this time dd1 will be 3.5 and dd2 2.5 and still ytring to make them both walk in preperation for no.4

I was thinking of a sling, as I already have 2 prams and can't really afford a big twin pram with a toddler seat. Was also thinking of making my 3 yo walk, but it's not worth the hassle for a day out.

Do you have any suggestions for a good sling please.

a buggyboard behind a twin?

Sorrento · 19/02/2009 21:53

Baby Dan do a reasonably priced triple buggy, I've seen it in the flesh and the nursery nurse pushing it seemed to be happy enough with it so I'd go for that.
I'd want to contain the 2 year old more than anything by having him/her strapped in safe.
Good luck I had three under 4 and it was hard work but fab.

My DS's nursery uses This, could you get it delivered though?

It is obviously quite wide but can't really expect anything else LOL.

Congrats on 3rd BTW

Sorry my 3 year old just had to walk - she was 3years & 6 weeks when the youngest was born. When dh & I were both there we took a single as well.

TBH I found that with 3 little ones I didn't really go out and about that much! Life was very home based for the first year, well probably 6 months.

Hello,

The best sling for a newborn I think is a stretchy wrap. As you are in Oz maybe a Hug A Bub, I think they are made there. It's the one thing I wouldn't be without with a newborn.

They are great for out and about and in the house.

Stretchy wrap for a newborn, mei tai/ring sling/woven wrap to start using at about 4 months and wean off the stretchy wrap.

You can make your own stretchy wrap - I did, I just bought 4 metres (Or 5m if you want - I am tiny) of 100% cotton jersey (ask in the shop if you don't know about fabrics) and I cut it legnthways into so that each bit was 20 inches wide, then used that at my stretchy wrap.

Is there a slingmeet in Aus?

I use either:
double with a sling,
one walking, one in single buggy and one in sling,
two walking and one in sling.

Mine are dts 26mths and ds3 11mths.

I use either a Baby Hawk mei tai or Patapum carrier since the baby was about 6mths. I like having the choice between a tie or structured, both very comfy for me and ds3. But I used a Close carrier at birth as I felt it was more supportive. They are all completely hands free.
