...got so tired they've started crying and then not stopped for over three hours? And drank some cheap crappy brandy bought to feed the Christmas cake? And then kicked herself for feeling so tired and dizzy (as drunk nothing for last few years) she feels she would be stupid to drive her children anywhere to get out of the house? Not sure what the hell is wrong with me today, but it's not fun, I can tell you! (Four DC's btw - all under 5.5y - youngest is 3m)

Oh, and just to reassure anyone worried - I am not drunk - I only had one drink! Had no chocolate in the house and needed something for me and me only. I would never do anything to endanger my children.

Write today off, we all have bad days and I don't have 4 dc's (well not of my own but I childmind so have 5 dc's here 5 days a week)

It will soon be bedtime get yourself an early night and get as much sleep as you can, can dh take over tonight?) tomorrow will look brighter and you can think of a plan to make your life easier. I mean - baking a christmas cake? I haven't even done that, I havent even brought one, we don't need one and I have other stuff to be doing

Work out whats really important and skip the harder bits until your dc's are older and be kind to yourself!

If you buy a box of wine you can have a couple of glasses when dc's are in bed then you can enjoy your night off and sleep well just be careful not to drink so much you have hangover!

Go for a walk with them all(buy a bar of chocolate?), come home put a video on and just sit. Forget about all the stuff that needs doing and just cruise through the rest of the day until bedtime. Make sure it's an early one and hopefully you'll feel in a better frame of mind tomorrow.
