Hello everyone!
I have really enjoyed reading this forum for larger families

I have 4 DC's (DD15, DD12, DS8 and DD7) and I thought we were done, but now I find that I would dearly love a fifth. Arrgghhhhhhhhh! Anyone got a cure for broodiness please? I'd be extremely grateful!

DH says he doesn't want anymore but regularly talks about having another. I don't think he realises the effect it has on me when he does that!

Lol, would number 5 lead to number 6 though, that's quite a gap you'd have after 4 so close together.

mrsdisorganised · 17/12/2008 22:47

Thats what i was thinking!!( says she ttc#5 so dd4 can have a playmate!)

KatieDD · 17/12/2008 22:52

I'm seriously considering asking for 2 frosty's to be put in so they have a playmate, but I think DH will actually kill me.

mrsdisorganised · 17/12/2008 22:55

I think if I was in your position I would too, my DH would kill me too...but I know he'd enjoy it too after the shock had worn off!!

mrsdisorganised · 17/12/2008 22:55

lot of 'too's' in that post

KatieDD · 17/12/2008 22:57

Mine would just kill me, no enjoying it, just prison for him and a visit upstairs for me lol

mrsdisorganised · 17/12/2008 23:00

Maybe theres to much emphasis on having a 'playmate'...I'm just using it as an excuse because for some unknown reason I want to do it all again.....

Madmentalbint · 18/12/2008 07:36

No ideas for curing broodiness then?

It would be a rather big gap, wouldn't it? Too big maybe? It would certainly get lots of fuss and attention from its big brother and sisters but it wouldn't have a playmate in the family. Unless it was twins of course!

Everything in my head says it's not a good idea to start again, I haven't got any baby things, my OH's work might dry up in the New year due to the credit crunch, I do enjoy having a bit more time and money to spend on the 4 DC's I have, and we don't have a spare bedroom. But my heart is screaming out Baby baby baby!!! I've enjoyed my DC's so much and I want to do it all again. My youngest has just done her last Nativity and lost her first tooth and I hate to think I wont get to do those things again.

I need to decide soon because it's doing my head in thinking about it all the time. I either need to get on and ttc or move on and do something else. Arrrghhhhhh! Of course my oH will have a say too - as long as he agrees with me.

How many DC's have you both got?

I have 4 dc and would love number 5. waiting for dh to have a vasectomy reversal in March my youngest is 6, hubby thinks we should have a number 6 too but not sure on that one yet

KatieDD · 18/12/2008 09:14

I have three and tbh It does feel a bit wrong me having another, I keep running hot and cold on the subject.
I will have a 6 year gap as I'm trying not to impact on my eldest DD's 11+ but equally I'd then be having the baby as she starts senior school which I also feel is a bad idea. Can't really win there.
Again my hubby was made redundant this year, although lets face it babies don't cost anything and I have still got all the stuff, £6k on IVF is still a lot of money.
All in all every sensible bone in my body says don't do it but I saw a 0ne year old in M&S yesterday and just melted, she was lovely and I really miss that stage.
It's really hard to decide, I think until the egg is in (and it does have to be just the one, was giving that a lot of thought last night) I'll still be wobbly.

I have 4 dcs with a four year gap between dd3 and dd4, we are ttc#5 although dh works away from home so it might take a miricle! We have also set the end of February to conceive by...otherwise I'll go out of my mind, and I want a baby next year....it seems to be a long shot at the moment but you never know, am trying not to get worked up about it!!Godd luck with your decisions girls

mrsdisorganised · 18/12/2008 09:57
