Help please !
For:
3 is a funny number
Would quite like a boy, have 3 DD's so maybe one more shot at that lol
We have 3 so one's not going to make a massive difference.
I just want one.

Against:
Would need bigger car
Hubby is far from keen
MIL will have a fit, actually that's a plus
Am really rather tired most days even with 3
I am very hormonal whilst pregnant, fine afterwards but a miserable bitch during.
Would need IVF costing £6,000 and in all honesty my kitchen and bathroom are falling apart.

I don't know what you should do but I do understand the wanting/need to have another one. I have two and want another one. I think that only you can decide but don't let people make you feel like you're being irresponsible or stupid for wanting another one or having another one if you choose to go ahead. It's only you and your hubby that can make this decision. I have one of each and get really ill when pregnant so EVERYONE I talk to thinks I'm stupid or crazy to even consider it and for some reason people think that as I have one of each I'm being greedy for wnating another one. Hope you can decide soon.

sunshineday · 30/11/2008 20:10

Kattiedd I have 4 dc but I really would love to go for number 5

missymoo what was the book please and would you recommend buying it.

mrsdisorganised · 30/11/2008 20:12

Me too! We have 4c and want a fifth, also interested in this book

sorkycake · 30/11/2008 22:21

You need to have sex as close to O as possible. I really do believe in it, though with IVF I don't know whether that is an issue or not.
Is there the possibility of choosing the sex Katiedd?
Again I wouldn't know whether that was possible , just a thought.

missymoo2411 · 01/12/2008 19:07

hi girls the book was titled how to choose the sex of your baby ...we got it on the web site amzen have spelled it wrong as not sure if im allowed to say it on here ..but u get the drift ...cant remember the author but it was only about 6 quid and ive passed it on .sorkycake is wright about the ovalating for a boy u do it on o day and for a girl avoid o day as much as possible u have 3 days either side to catch on there is also the diet ,ovalation charts tight pants and hot baths for dh i enjoyed the reading and the planning .i believeit worked as with my 3 xds i caught on within the next cycle ..

KatieDD · 01/12/2008 22:45

Having given this more thought, I'm actually not that bothered about having a boy, next door have 3 girls and just had a boy and he's a baby like all the others, not sure why I thought it would be different
In fact in many ways another girl would be easier.
So help me decide, am still on the fence

KatieDD - I could write your message

This is mine
For:
DP and I love babies and children
Have 3DDs already chances of having a boy are about 10% btw
3 is an odd number
Have just got a P&T would get my monies worth

Against:
SPD, SPD and SPD have horrid pregnancies
Bigger car
Bigger house
Money, money, money
Agree with the tired thing too

I don't know but I'm only 33 and DD3 is 4 months so who knows......

KatieDD · 01/12/2008 22:56

I'm the same age Kitty, maybe it's a one last go before I reach mid thirties thing.
I'm dead lucky in that the pregnancies are normally good for me and births are fine too but it's everything else isn't it ?
I wish I could have an accident

katiedd why do you have to decide this week?

KatieDD · 01/12/2008 23:05

It was a couple of weeks ago actually.
Just that DH was getting a bit pissed off with me going on and on about it.
DH needs to do his bit asap and then I need to start my drugs straight away too.
Plus in an ideal world I get to try IVF in June 2009 with the baby arriving in Feb 2010.
I know that sounds dead anal but that really would work out well for our family and then if it didn't work I could get one more shot at it in Jan 2010.
Beyond that DH says no.

I have got the referal and am going to the consultation but can still change my mind up to the point where I have the eggs extracted so I guess that's a good few months away but DH would hit the bloody roof having spent all that money and have sperm sucked out of his bollox with a needle {blush]

ahh check date on op

expatinscotland · 01/12/2008 23:17

well, i don't know about the choosing the sex thing as i have two girls and one boy.

we feel we're done here, mainly because of PND and my age (nearly 38).

but if i had to do it over and were younger then i'd say fuck it and go for a fourth.

KatieDD · 01/12/2008 23:38

Thanks expat

I have 4 DCs, it is very lively but I would not have it any other way.

mears · 01/12/2008 23:58

I have 4 and don't regret it at all (except when they are arguing)
Go for it

FantasticMissFox · 13/12/2008 11:17

Go for it Katie, I'm one of four and its great

travellingcircus · 14/12/2008 00:15

I sporadically consider a number 4 when my hormones are working against me! I've justified not having another by sex. My eldest DD is special because she's the biggest, my second is DS and special as he's the only boy and littly is DD special cos she's the baby. 6,5 and 4. I think the gap would now separate them and it wouldn't upset the balance too much but I'm not with their dad now so there's a new dynamic and I'm not settled at 26. Plenty of time left to change my mind ;)
I'd say ask your kids and think of it from their point of view. Brothers and sisters are great gifts for life but so is time with mummy and daddy. Tough one, good luck x
