Am falling in love with ds3 (7 weeks) at the moment. We always wanted four so I am relaxed about still wanting more. However, every time I reach the end of a pregnancy I start longing for the next one (I have easy pregnancies!).
Will this ever go away? We will stop at 4 but I'm worried I will always want more...

If there were no financial or social restrictions how many would you have?

Plus the thought of spending another 5yrs at home (I did the same for DD, partly because childcare for 3 is/was prohibitively expensive on my salary) fill me with cold dread. Don't get me wrong, I aodred spending the time with DD and wouldn't change it for the world, but I feel like I've done it now and I'm enjoying the next stage of my life.

me and DH dont feel the finality of snipping is such a good idea (within our household), we are both such broody people!

We currently have 5 sons, ranging from 16yrs to 2yrs. But the house isnt getting any bigger, im not getting any younger - and DS5 is autistic, and i really feel that the 'had enough' children has only arrived because i dont know how long he will be so incredibly dependant on me. so after 5 sons the 'off button' has now been pressed...

but if you'd have asked me this only a year ago (before DX) i would have said 7... why?

well, in our family (mothers side) theres only been boys now for 4 generations. I REALLY wanted to test the 'magic' theory... you know the one that goes:

"seventh son of a seventh son" is magical and powerful??? well im willing to give it a try! minor prob - trying to persuade DS7's wife to have 7 (at least!) boys of her own to test the theory... oh boo, well it wasnt for lack of trying!

I had an utterly horrendous pregnancy with DD3 who is now 10 weeks, bad SPD and a 4 and 2 yo to cope with I swore that was it. But now DD3 is here she is an utter joy and I cannot imagine her being my last baby. DP feels the exact same.

I so thought 3 would be it for us but right now I'm probably 50/50 depending on how bad a day I am having.
