Pregnant with number 4

Can you help. Have just found out am pregnant with no 4, have a DD aged 7 months. What is it like with this age gap? No lies please.. I can take it. Have a DD age 4 and a DS aged 7. Have i well and truly lost the plot

I am a firm believer that the temperaments of your children rather than age gaps make a difference. I have a similar gap and because my eldest has a very independent nature life has been easier. Also the rest is down to organisation. You'll be fine and if your not ask for help wherever you can.

I had four in under 5 years (DC1 was two weeks off his 5th birhtday when DC4 came along)and the gap between DC3 and DC4 was 13months. It was (and still is) very hard work. In the early weeks I felt like I could have fallen asleep standing up, but a year on, and with two at school I am starting to see the light...

I agree with Zola, especially the need for good organisation. And I also feel that with four small DCs you need to 'let go' to some extent of the non-important stuff. As a result my house is a mess most of the time, but I take the DCs to fun activities and I try to feed them healthy meals.

you will be fine. it will be hard work for while I cannot deny that (I have two of mine 16mths apart), but they will end up like twins for a while and be close.

Hi i am pregnant with my fourth due in dec. I have dd (8) ds1 (3) ds2(2) and there are 14 months between two boys. It was hard at first but they are great friends now. They are completely different in every way, even though i imagined them to be almost twin like as they are so close together, but because they cant remember being without each other there is never any of the jealously you get from a bigger gap. I am now worried how they will react to this new baby who will arrive before anyone has another birthday, and am expecting the "i dont like him/her can we send it back" comments!

Hopefully your family will be on hand to help out and i would accept all offer gracfully, especially if anyone offers to take older children to/from school.

Also when ds2 was born i started to go to mother and toddler groups as i felt i probably wasnt devoting enough playtime to ds1. They both loved it.
