Once at night but there are only 4 of us, ds empties it in the morning. Even though he's been doing it for ages, he still puts pans etc in the wrong place.

ladytophamhatt · 24/08/2008 21:08

aww lovely....

congratulations NAO, I'd love to knwo all the details but remember you had "troubles" on here recently so understand why.

pollyanna · 24/08/2008 21:09

twice a day here - 5 children (one not eating yet) and 3 adults.

If I bake it goes on more.

MommyUpNorth · 24/08/2008 21:19

Usually once a day - occasionally more if we have visitors, but it is only an 8 place settings size, standard size is about 1/3 bigger I think.

ladytophamhatt · 24/08/2008 22:17

hmmmm, maybe I have to muddled up.

I thought you name changed for a while because of some RL stuff.

Apologies if I have you mixed up.

Once or twice a day. Twice yesterday when I made chutney and we had my parents and sister for tea. Once today when we only had pitta pizzas and salad for tea - so no pans.

Twelve place settings is all very well, but it doesn't leave room for pans etc.

Paper cups and plates are great for lunch - and for recycling! write the kids name on the cup and they can drink water all day out of it.

Once a day for us - my large familied sis has different coloured disposable plates and cups for each child and they use them during the day (not dinner) during the hols.

PinkTulips · 24/08/2008 22:54

there are 10 of us here..one a day..however roast day means twice.

i cut down..lol (metered water bills here)...i use the same coffee cup now, and wash all the kids drinks cups by hand.

just bought another cutlery set as we kept running out of knives and spoons.

ByTheSea · 28/08/2008 11:54

We are a family of six (four DC), and usually run it once daily. We can set a time delay, so usually run it overnight. I try to insist gently encourage the DC to reuse their drinking cups througout the day. Occasionally, we'll run it twice or more in a day, particularly if we have people over for a holiday or Sunday dinner.

ByTheSea · 28/08/2008 11:55

throughout

struwellpeter · 28/08/2008 23:03

Usually once a day when there are six of us but with only one extra person and in holiday time when everyone is at home for lunch, it goes on more often. And I couldn't fit the pans in even if I wanted to.

Have tried to train the dcs and dh in dishwasher loading. At the moment dcs more receptive than dh who on being told for the millionth time that if he puts things in in a way that the jets can't reach them they won't wash, just uses it as an excuse to say he can't do it! Aargh! Domestic bliss.

Twice a day there a six of us here, don't know how I ever managed without one, thank god for ebay!!!!
