Struggling to join housing register, any advice?

Hi not sure if anyone has a clue about this but thought i should. Ask. Went theough with an application to join the housing register as we was struggling to find somewhere private. Currently been placed in band AR (Nottingham city council) for severe overcrowding and medical needs. Was told we need a 5 bed. However I have to ring every Friday to check if any 4 beds with 2 reception rooms are available. Does that sound right? How come I have to ring for the 4 beds but can see the 5 beds on my online account? Also anyone have a rough timeframe of when they was housed with a high banding? Thank you xxx

You might be better off asking in your local Facebook group, as they may have more of an idea.

Yes that is right OP, because you’re assessed as needing a 5 bed house those will show online but 4 beds with reception rooms can also be suitable, because that isn’t technically your house type they don’t automatically appear online so you need to keep ringing.

AR is generally high priority but you could still be looking at years to wait especially for a 5 bed, even for a 4 bed.
