I have five kids 1yr, 3yr, 6yr, 8yr and 16yrs. Bedtime is down to a fine art (in that everyone is asleep) but just wondered how long it take for other large families
We average about an hour and half.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

We have 3 kids - 7, 6 and 2. From start of bathtime to closing bedroom doors and saying goodnight is usually about 45 mins to an hour.

I have 4 (aged 9, 6, 4, 2). From going upstairs for bathtime to saying goodnight it’s between 1hr15 and 1hr30 which includes stories for each and a quick bedtime bf for the 2 year old. However DH blocks the time out in his diary so we almost always do it together (which is how we give them each individual stories).

At that age, it probably took about an hour to an hour and a half. Now, at 14, 12, 9 & 7 it can be done in 10 minutes (but is usually around 45 minutes on average, because I read to the younger 2 and then have individual "good night chats" with the older 2.) Saying that, bedtime in our house didn't ever last until they were asleep - after about age 2 or 3, I stopped sitting with them til they fell asleep.

Please tell us how you do it! Only have two and it’s one of the hardest things.
Upstairs 5pm. DD bath whilst DS listens to yoto in room/comes in and out. Then DS in bath whilst DD walks around with yoto/books.
6pm stories with both. 6:30ish DH and I separate them for bedtime stories and getting them to sleep. In and out, swapping, im hungry, thirsty etc on perfect day both asleep by 7:30 but often theyre trying to wake each other or I get one down and the other is too noisy and at least one is up until 8:30/9.

When DH is away it’s carnage 😭

and the older one only sleeps at all due to the holy grail that js melatonin but maybe the autism and adhd is the culprit!
