Hi looking for a touch of advice please if anyone could help. Iv been in my current home for 14 years and we’ve out grown it. We have 2 adults and 6 children. we was in a good position to move however my partner lost his job and it fell through. We have 2 sons on the spectrum. One in a specialist setting school. Now no one wants to rent to us it seems. Even 4 bedroom houses with an extra reception room they just say no. So I put our application through for council housing. It’s all very new to me. I had a phone call yesterday saying we will be placed in band a for overcrowding and medical. They’ve asked for strong recommendation letters from medical professionals for my sons. One has an adhd nurse whos already on it however my other son hasn’t seen a pead in over a year and my gp said they won’t help. Has anyone had this before? Apparently my gp said they don’t write letters to help with housing issues however the council have said to go to them x

Do you have the name of the paediatrician that your child is under? Usually you can go through a hospital switchboard and ask to speak to the secretary of such and such and they can be a wealth of information.

I do. He’s had the same pead for over 10 years. He was on an open appt. He had an appt last year Feb 1 however I went into labour and had my daughter on 29/1 songs couldn’t attend. I rang and explained and didn’t hear from them again. I rang the switch board for both peads and she’s going to email his actual pead to see if they can still help
