What are we driving?

Got word that we will be returning to the U.K. in the not too distant future!!!

YAY!!

What are we all driving that can fit 3 high-back boosters across the back seats?

Don’t come for me….but buying a car for me this time is going to be the ultimate indulgence of my shallow wants for a “naice” car 🫠😂
I’ve been driving “mum wagons” for way too long. They are practical. They fit the whole tribe in…..but I’m not doing it again. I want something more aesthetically pleasing this time!
I previously had a Citroen C4 Picasso AirDream in the U.K., and now I’ve got a gigantic Honda mum-bus here in the US both of which look like vans.

I’ve been looking, and am possibly leaning towards an Audi Q7. Looks like it has majority of the same features as my Citroen had, the car seats will all fit and it’s just a lot prettier than my Citroen 🫠😂

Any personal pros/cons of the Q7?
Any other suggestions that you’ve liked?
Will definitely be buying used, budget will be £10k and below.

The basic models are tonnes of money ( and really basic) I’d question if you could in fact get three boosters in without using the boot seats ( it’s pretty tight when we tested three teenagers) . The new Hyundai sante fe is pretty cool , the Kia is similar ( but over priced for a Kia imo)

I have had a gander at the Santa Fe, so that’s on the list of possibilities!

Only reason I’ve leaned towards an Audi Q7 is because a U.K. friend has one, also has 3 kids similar ages to mine. She fits a rear-facing isofix seat and two belted highback boosters in, and I’ve got one isofix highback booster and two belted.

You’re going to struggle to get a big car from a big brand for £10k, unless very old and high mileage. Used car prices are insane here atm. My 10yr old VW Tiguan, one previous owner, very low mileage cost £15k.

Oh I’d miss the 10k bit. Yeah , no chance on an Aldi unless it’s ancient and high maintenance ( and the earlier versions weren’t anywhere near as big e) prices are nuts.

Copied straight from a “Bump to Booster UK” fb group which specialises in car seat safety. I’m sure I read people talk about the Q7 and Volvo XC90 and it is doable but has to be certain seats. It might be worth joining and just searching “Q7” or “3 across” and just reading what others did without having to post.

☆ Cars which take 3 across quite easily ☆

● VW Sharan
● VW Touran (mk2 2015+)
● Seat Alhambra
● Ford S-Max
● Ford Galaxy
● Citroen C4 Picasso or Spacetourer (5 seater)
● Citroen Grand C4 Picasso or Spacetourer (7 seater)
● Peugeot 5008 (MPV version)
● Peugeot 5008 SUV (not 2024+)
All of the above have 3 separate, full sized seats with isofix from around 2010 onwards. The first 3 also have isofix in the boot seats from around 2015 onwards. These cars can typically accommodate just about any combination of seats. If you know you need 3 across, these are definitely your best options.

☆ Van recommendations ☆
● VW Transporter
● VW Multivan - 7 seater, in a 2-2-3 layout
● Ford Tourneo Custom
● Citroen Spacetourer (the van version, not to be confused the C4 Spacetourer, which is a car)
● Renault Traffic
● Vauxhall Vivaro Life
● Citroen e-Berlingo

You’d be better off burning the money than buying an Audi for 10k. At that price it’s going to be so old will need thousands of pounds pouring into it within a year if you’re lucky.

I drive a 14 seater toyota hiace bus lol have done for 10 years. Before this I drove an 8 seater Toyota tarago. Iv had 3 versions of those hahah now that majority of my kids have grown up and all getting their own licence and cars and I usually only have 4 kids with me or just the 2 babies 90% of the time I want something nicer and smaller but still roomy to fit all the groceries in and pack prams and bags into, Iv been looking at the 7 seater kia's and I'm liking the 7 seater hyandai Santa fe . My budget is also between $10,000 to $12,000.

My friend buy a used Audi from the DRC Auto Sales, they gave all the benefits and much more. If you want, you can also take it from there.

We sold our Audi q5 and got the hyuandai Santa Fe. Would highly recommend!!
