Hi all. I have severe Emetophobia! Which is I'm absolutely petrified to vomit.
My son hasn't left the house in 9days and started having diarrhoea on Sunday and then yesterday he started throwing up he's also still throwing up and got diarrhoea now.

  • I've just found out I'm expecting no4 and I'm terrified I'm gonna get whatever he has. But he hasn't left the house in 9days! It's soo weird I have a 10yr old & a 8yr old and they seem ok so far 😩😩😩😩
I'll probably give the docs a call today tho my son is so ill it's coming out both ends 😭

How old is DS? Is he taking in any liquids? Poor lad sounds like he’s having a rough time. All you can do is wash your hands- maybe wear a mask? Is there anyone who could help with his care?

Paragonfoodie · 25/02/2025 03:19

Is he able to keep some fluids down? Is he passing urine? Are you giving him dioralyte? You can make fruit squash ice cubes with dioralyte and he can suck them. Or you can try sips of very cold flat coke, the full sugar variety.
Of course you should get medical advice. He sounds very unwell.
Be very careful about handwashing and cleaning.
Can he use a separate toilet?

doodahdayy · 25/02/2025 03:21

Of course you should seek medical advice after 9 days.

Dairymilkisminging · 25/02/2025 03:36

Why hasn't he left the house in 9 days?

Flamingoknees · 25/02/2025 03:52

Hoq old is he? Why has hw been hoysebound for 9 days?

understatedlycrap · 25/02/2025 03:53

From what I understand, you don’t understand why he has it if he hasn’t left the house for 9 days but so far it’s only a 24 hour bug. Sounds like noro. Fellow emet here.

it’s possible to avoid is. Don’t touch your face, wear a mask, wash your hands, don’t eat with your hands (eat things with utensils) keep him contained in a space, ie bathroom or bedroom. After every d or v, close toilet lid and flush then later once particles settle, with a mask, put bleach down toilet.

Has he been ill for 9 days and has just started to throw up and have diarrhoea? Your son needs medical attention ASAP if he’s been ill for 9 days and is now getting worse with new symptoms.

TheBlueUser · 25/02/2025 04:45

So he only got ill on Sunday (3 days ago), but hadn't left the house for 6 days before that?

Petuniaspetal · 25/02/2025 05:20

My sister developed salmonella and was doing the same, was advised to go to hospital due to severe dehydration as unable to keep anything down or 'in'. Severe dehydration can be very serious, so I hope you are seeking medical advice.

Is this chatgpt? How odd.

He hasn't been ill for 9 days - it's been 2 days. Sounds like a tummy bug. Presumably someone has been out if the house in the past 9 days.

My ds would be climbing the walls at home for 9 days

Hoppinggreen · 25/02/2025 15:03

I think what OP is saying is that he couldn't have picked up a bug outside the home because he hadn't been out for a while if I am reading this correctly?
However, it doesn't much matter where it came from
He needs fluids and rest and possibly medical attention if it continues or he seems very spacey or dehydrated.

Yeah basically, thank you. I took him to see gp today said he's fine just give him fluids but will do a stool test come Wednesday if he's still got diarrhoea 😭

How old is he?

Kids are like dogs imo they need fresh air and exercise out of the house everyday!

If no one else is ill he must have eaten something iffy.
