I know there are lots of threads on having 4 but I need to hear the best bits please. I know all of the challenges and people who don’t have large families always gasp/ suggest negatives. What are the best bits about having 4?

For context, surprise pregnancy with #4. Older dc would be 5 and 3 so relatively close in age……

It’s too late now😅 I had 4 aged 5 and under. Cant recommend it and hope my kids don’t put themselves through the same when their time comes.

But, the best bits? 4 completely different characters. I actually think 4 is better than 3, (though I would recommend stopping at 2). I guess in future we might have a higher opportunity of having some of our kids nearby, more than if we’d had two?

They are 4 individual humans, and wonderfully different, that’s the only real plus of so many.

oh, maybe it’s good that at Christmas and holidays, even if we’ve no guests coming it’s still pretty lively just us? And all my kids are fabulous so it’s amazing to see them grow and achieve!

I've got 5 including twins and I genuinely absolutely love it. I've always loved having children and because I started off with twins, I didn't think 2 would be enough hence why I had my 3rd and then we realised 3 just wasn't a good number for us either. Which is why we had our 4th. Our 5th was a surprise pregnancy and although we considered terminating, I will forever be grateful that we didn't.

Mine were all about 3 years, maybe a bit more, in age gap which I really liked. They are 15, 15, 12, 9 and 6 and I don't regret having any of them. It can be difficult but we are lucky to be financially stable and I have the support I need.

It is never quiet or boring here. Having so many fills me with more love than I thought I could have. You need to make sure you have the emotional time though.

A fun lively household. An even number. I won’t say guaranteed friends coz you never know with personalities but more of a chance of a close relationship as with one sibling you might have nothing in common and that’s it.

#4 was an unplanned surprise for us too. It is chaos, the house is a mess and they cost me a fortune. But they are the most gorgeous little gang, there's always someone making me laugh or demanding hugs. They get on really well together and yes they fight, but they are also great buddies. Ours range from 13 - 4 in age. I absolutely love my large brood!
