Hi all,
we have 4 girls ages
12,10,9 and almost 2.
we are moving soon into a 4 bedroom house that also has the bonus of a downstairs study room.
9 year old doesnt want her own room, would like to share with the toddler.
toddler still doesnt sleep through.
is it worth trying them in together or should i put one child into the downstairs study?

9 & 10 currently share but are very different and have promised 10yo she wont need to share anymore.
12yo definitely needs own room.

has anybody had an older child share with a toddler? Does it work?

Not having children share a room is a privilege & luxury.

Many across the world and country, don't have this option and survive just fine.

I say that to say, it will be okay.

If it were up to me, I'd either have all 3 girls older sharing & youngest in separate bed room. Or i would have the two oldest and two youngest share rooms. Good luck

I would use the study as a bedroom for your eldest child. Give them a bedroom each from the beginning. Why does a 9 year old want to share with a 2 year old? If they have their own room, bit negates having to switch about later.

Give them their own room but put two beds in one room ,so two of them can sleep in the same one if they don't want to sleep alone. Be prepared to be flexible about it .
