we drive this beast

to add extras and make it less van ish meant it is not cheap but its very spacious and i can keep my bugaboo up to put it in the boot

Psychomum5 · 30/03/2008 14:08

we have a chrysler voyager now, and I LOVE it, altho I do miss the 8th seat we had in the toyota previa we had before!

we have had.....

renault espace.....teeny boot altho we did fit a double 3wheeler in it. didn;t like it tho, and the only way for the kiddies to get into the back seats was for them to get in thro the boot, meaning I had to empty it each time....major PITA. also, it got writtne off ina tiny bump in a car park. car I hit (I also got hit....twas a three car issue) had a tow bar on the back which went thro our front grill and into the water tank.......major money to fix so car was a write off....apparently tis common with espace's!!!

vauxhall zafira on hire after accident....

teeny tiny boot, PITA to change seats to be able to use the boot, altho DH loved it as it is like a 'normal' car and is nippy about town and economical on fuel.

toyota previa......loved it altho DH didn't. He reckons it felt like a big white van (it was white), and t'was 'boxey' according to him too!!!
I loved the huge boot, the 8 seats, the ease getting in and out, the fact it protected me lots and lots in 2 car accidents before the second wrote it off completely thro major damage BUT, the lap belts failed to protect the kiddies in second accident so wil not have another unless brand spanking new with all proper belts!!!

chrysler voyager grande on loan cos of accident....

loved it, loved the space, loved being able to access all seats....loved it....soooo.....went and bought...

chrysler voyager (but not grande as couldn;t afford one!).

love it altho tis very expensive on the fuel. has got seat heater, so that I my fave feature.

Peugot 607 here.

Immaculateconception · 30/03/2008 17:23

We have a Peugot 405 Family car, kids love it, especially the ones who sit in the back! There's plenty of room in it and we can always fit a month's shopping in it plus the kids!

mumo75 · 30/03/2008 17:42

VW TRANSPORTER

fab-can put my double montain buggy up in boot without folding it!!!

can sit 9 adults in mine comfortably

LOVE IT

wouldnt have anything else now

pedilia · 30/03/2008 19:01

I have an izuzu trooper, it has 7 seats and is also a 4x4 (moch horror!) which I need for the horses. If I didn't have the horses I would go for a Chrysler

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 30/03/2008 20:41

had two chryslers before the transporter and do no rate them one bit

its all looks with the chrysler
we had loads of problems with batteries/wing mirrors (constantly) hand brake ( RUBBISH) engine just died on us in summer when 12 months old

We did not love it at all although it looked good and went fast fully loaded up ( we got lots of speeding fines)

also owned:-

GALAXY - ok no probs but not fab and tiny boot
Toyota Previa - HUGE but drank gas and sluggish

I doubt we will move from transporters whilst we have 6 at home and then iy may just be to Caravelle

may consider mercedes one which was a close call when we bought last time

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 30/03/2008 20:42

just remembered the galaxy leaked water into the footwell!

good thinking riven

we will only need 7 seater in 2 years bar once a year for hols - i would love a caravelle so maybe we could use train for holidaying

weblette · 31/03/2008 17:28

We've a Grand Scenic diesel. Has more room with the seats up than the Zafira and can get three car seats across the middle. There's enough space to fit a Loola in the boot.

I'm a hopeless parker so the thought of anything bigger than that filled me dread.

Our luggage now tends to be of the squishy kind - for UK trips I use a big laundry bag rather than suitcases.

We have a VW Caravelle-8 seats and plenty of space at the back for luggage! (We looked at other people carriers but the Caravelle is the one with most additional space as well as the seats).

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 31/03/2008 17:41

yes tiggiwinkle they do not make caravelle 8 seaters anymore

no - just 7 seaters

we have transporter which is not nearly so flash as caravelle

mumo75 · 31/03/2008 18:52

Ive got the 9 seater VW transporter and hubby has the 8 seater VW Caravelle

both LUSH

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 31/03/2008 21:39

is the caravelle much more 'plush' mum075?

our trransporter is fabbo and i put nice wheels and good airbags and heated seats but ...it is still a bit van ish and caravelle looks so much more fun but only 7 seats

mumo75 · 31/03/2008 22:06

Yes it is more 'plush'
had caravelle 1st and then needed more seats so got BN transporter
prefer Caravelle but not big enough for all of us!!!

like you we will prob get rid of tranporter later when dont need so many seats and buy BN Caravelle

rowe · 31/03/2008 23:00
