Reassuring experiences of having three children

I’ve fallen very unexpectedly pregnant with my third child; I am 38 and we have a six year old and an 18 month old and we thought we were done.

My husband is very worried about money which I do agree with to an extent but think we will find a way. We live in a four bed house although the fourth room is a box so technically ‘have room’. My second DC is a handful and the thought of looking after him at two years old with a newborn (at my age!) is daunting. I am also starting to get somewhere in my career and feel like it’s a step backwards again.

Can you give me some reassuring stories about having three children please 🙏🏼

I had my 3rd at 37, and, in truth it has been great.
They are all adults now.
I found dc3 by far and away the easiest - I think as much because I'd relaxed a bit along the way and realised that most things are a phase / they come out the other side, and that the tiny things you worry about with the first, don't really matter.

I mean, we are slightly different in that we always wanted dc3, the pregnancy wasn't an accident.

In terms of careers. We are both in senior roles in our chosen careers.

Not 3 but 4, all very different but our fourth by far was the easiest and just fit right in. She was so chilled from the beginning and has remained so. she is now almost 26. I was also much more chilled as a 4th time Mum and probably the reason she also was. You will be just fine 😀

I have 3 boys aged 6,4 and 1. Had my 3rd at 36. The other two were 4 and 2 when he was born. He slotted in so easily cos you’re already in your routine. My second has always been a handful but think he’s been good for him to be honest. I’d say go for it! In terms of finances, obviously the food bills have gone up and inevitably clubs etc when they get older will too but we managed a holiday abroad this year and have a 3 bedroom (the older two share). I’m actually pregnant with my 4th now unexpectedly and that I’m worrying about 😬 xx
