Hi all, I'm a mama of 7- 6 boys 1 of whom is forever sleeping and I've got 1 baby girl.
I don't want more children and I'm booked in to be sterilised on the 16th of this month. I had a bad time after having my girl, I ended up in hospital 8wks Postpartum with retained placenta and sepsis.
My question is have any of you ever regretted having it done?
I'm set on not having more but I'm also sad that my body won't be able to carry anymore once I go ahead and do this.
Is it normal to feel sad even though its what I want?

Sorry I don't have an answer for you but I've just had my 3rd and if we go to 4 I'll be getting this done (as it'll have to be a c section so they'll do it at the same time). I'm already feeling a bit sad about it now but at the end of the day I know that my (and my dh) capacity will be at the max and I want to enjoy the children I have without having to worry about contraception/falling pregnant! Sounds like you've had a rough time but huge congratulations on your little girl 🤍

I was sterilised after giving birth to 2 children both of whom are now grown up. I knew that as much as I loved them, we couldn’t afford more and I wanted to move on with my life and go to uni and build a career. DS said that my husband should have the snip but I pointed out that if anything happened to me then he could have more children and even if I was with someone else I never would. I have never for one minute regretted my decision. I think with 7 you are entitled to a bit of piece of mind and there really is more to life than looking after babies.

Yes i regretted it and had it reversed and then had more children ! But I was rushed into a decision on the day before my c section with no counselling or info on the procedure and I had a severe uti so was confused and already in hospital . I was very lucky my reversal worked so it is possible to change your mind but if you are sure and you’ve thought about it and had all the info etc then it’s good as it’s a balanced decision
