Skoda Kodiaq and car seats

HappyFeet63 · 13/06/2023 18:40

Would love to know if anyone with a 7 seater Skoda Kodiaq has successfully found they could fit 3 car seats in the middle row (trying to avoid using the back row as feels less safe)

will have a newborn, 7 year old and 5 year old so one isofix base and 2 high back boosters

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Thanks

I've got a Kodiaq - I haven't tried three seats across the back but have had a big car seat (Cybex Sirona) on an isofix and one booster. I'm not sure you'd get another booster in the middle if your isofixed car seat is big/wide, but the back seats are more secure than you'd think. We have adults in them often and they're just as good as the middle seats but with less legroom - probably not as much of an issue for a 7 year old, though!

No you cannot. We tried with two Besafe high back boosters and a belted in Joie. It is very tight and not safe. The above 3 seats a re amongst the slimmest in the market as our Britax car seats were huge. We ended up buying a Peugeot 5008 as like you I didn't want to use the back seats. My kids were similar ages 8,5 and newborn.

Thanks that’s super helpful!

Kodiaq here too and no definitely not 3 seats across the middle. We've popped one up in the back and access through the boot for a third car seat

We have 3 seats across the middle and two are isofix! We have the maxi cosi pebble for the baby, so he maxi cosi mica for the 2 year old and a seatbelted maxi cosi rodi something in the middle for the 5 year old. We can't undo the middle seatbelt easily so the 5 year old slips through and I check the belt isn't twisted rather than do it up every journey.

On a related note: does anyone with a Kodiaq know if an adult could fit in the second row with an isofix car seat either side? We’re expecting number 2 and ideally I’d like to be able to sit in the back with both kids (the older will be nearly three by then so hopefully still rear facing), but not sure if the middle seat will be wide enough

HappyValleyFan1 · 30/09/2023 19:36

@AlwaysSwordfish honest answer... it depends how wide your bum is 😅
I definitely couldn't postpartum until DS turned 1 and I'd lost some weight. Even then I probably would have got away without a seatbelt as pretty wedged 🤭

We have a Joie 360 and a normal high backed booster seat so possible they take up a little more room

Hi We have a Kodiaq and two seats in the back - Cybex Pallas G i-Size and a Britax Romer Dualfix m i-size. the middle seat can sit a small framed woman (size UK 8) in comfortably to uncomfortably. I am UK 12-14 and mummy hips - and it is too uncomfortable for me.... could be possible with narrower car seats though?!
