3 week old and broody - what?!

I have a 2yo and a 3 week old. We were very set on just 2 dc but I'm now massively broody. Not to be pregnant any time soon as such but maybe not as "done" as I thought. Is this normal? Is it because my brain knows I'm done so it's Mother Nature wanting me to have another dc? Is it just post partum hormones?

For context, we're mid 30s, one girl, one boy and will have mortgage paid off within 5 years.

I would just put it down to hormones for now, you really shouldn't be getting pregnant within a year anyway, so don't worry about it.

I don't really believe in fixed decisions as how can you know before child two is born whether you'll want another? You can change your mind anytime until your body says otherwise.

Enjoy your baby safe in the knowledge that you either will or won't have another!

Totally normal and hugely untrustworthy hormone at play. Let everything settle before you make any big decisions.

@whattheheckisth1s no advice, but I am feeling exactly the same! We were always ‘2 and done’ and are due our second son in March, but every night I’m dreaming about having 3 children (possibly slightly Heightened by the hormones to want a girl). I know it’s all hormone related but suspect I will feel like this too in a year or so!
