Tell me about your XC90. Is it reliable??

We have 3 kids and need a 7 seater for things like playdates, grandparent/sibling visits, etc. Leaning heavily toward the XC90 recharge as the 2023 seems to get great mileage and we could use it like an electric for city driving.

Reliability is the big thing I’m worried about as the ratings don’t seem great. Have you been happy with your XC90, especially if you have a newer one? And how is it for the kids in the 3rd row on longer car journeys? Do they get sick from swaying as it’s an SUV? Our kids range in age from 9-6.

Ours isn’t a new model but 6 or so years old. Back row is roomy, as is the whole car. A small adult could sit there.
i do find it quite ‘swingy’, although this could be Dh’s driving?!
Why don’t you test drive one?

Not mine but my friends. It was on a 2017 plate and had nothing but issues with it. She couldn’t wait to see it go. It honestly can be just luck of the draw thou!

I have a 20 year old one that I love and is as reliable as a 20 year old car can be expected to be. Volvos notoriously throw up endless warning notes/faults but often aren’t things you actually have to fix, or are cheap fixes if you’re not at a rip off merchant garage.

No idea about newer models for reliability but space wise nothing compared for us and the kids never get travel sick in the middle or back rows.
