I'm not sure what topic I should be posting this under but I thought families with multiple children would know the struggle of finding presents when you have so many toys already.

My son is going to be 2 towards the end of April and I have been looking for presents for him for a while. We have bought him some little bits like stickers, playdoh and a few cars but have no idea for bigger presents. We already have loads of peppa pig toys, cars, trains, duplo and some toy story figures he likes to play with. As well as big garden items like his trike, swings, play house and trampoline.

When friends and family have asked what to buy for him I've said sticker/colouring books, vehicle toys and clothes. I just have no idea what to buy him from my husband and I.

This thread is quite old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for toy ideas for two-year-olds, we’ve recently updated our best toys for 2-year-olds page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users and their kids. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

We ask for money towards a season ticket to local attractions. It means dc get lots of days out we couldn't usually afford and no more stuff.

If he’s only 2, I’d go for the wow factor (in a big box!) rather than anything expensive, save your money for the later years when he wants the recent tech!
A sit on tractor?

That sounds like a good idea, we've been considering taking our kids to peppa pig world for a while, never actually thought of giving it him as a present - how stupid am I haha 😂

My dd really enjoys those - that might be a good idea

He'd definitely like a tractor - he probably would just be happy with a big box tbh though 😂

A lovely trip out. He’s 2 and won’t know he didn’t get a ‘main’ present.

I understand where you’re coming from with having everything and I only have 2 kids.

A helium balloon (on a weighted string) wrapped up in a big box. Best present my 2yo ever got hands down.

I think that's definitely a good idea, he'll enjoy a day out. I've only got two atm (pregnant with twins) but they're very spoilt by us and by family haha - we also have a lot of toys from older cousins.

Omg that's a great plan - I could get him some with peppa or toy story characters on. He loves balloons and boxes 😂

Keeping this idea for DD2’s next birthday.

If he already enjoys Duplo why not another set. Maybe the garage set if he's in to cars. Then it's something he will enjoy but can be added to the other Duplo and not starting a new collection. You can never have too much Duplo for creative building -at least in our house

A garage might be a good idea - might stop him "parking" his cars on my coffee table

My son loved his Toot Toot garage for his 2nd birthday.

Other hits at this age have been a ride on excavator with construction hat, a tea set for his teddies and a kitchen.

What about one of those cardboard playhouses/castles, that he can paint himself (and you can bin later). A cheap pop up tent is brilliant. They get to hide in it with all the duplo and you can zip it up and chuck it in another room at bedtime. Also really useful in a shared bedroom and at the beach.
