I went from 3 to 4 many years ago. Partly for the same reason as you, so feeling like we were not finished.
What is it like? Well!
It was ok actually. But bear in mind financials. Teenage years were the hardest financially, as teenagers are not then so fond of the 2nd hand things. Plus money for a school trip, more food, more gadgets etc all adds up.

And also bear in mind the possibility of lots of grandkids, and husbands/wives/partners, and their families.

I happen to just have written on another thread, 12 coming for christmas this year Shock

My sister has 4 and has confided in me that she should have stopped at 3. They are 6, 8, 11, 13 now and her life is crazy. The broodiness never left her, so don't assume that will be the case with a 4th. She got a dog when youngest was 2. Then another dog 2 years later....

I found 2-3 harder!

Probably as a big age gap between 2 & 3.
Washing is never ending, house chores are constant but overall, 4 is great!
I have 18,13,6,4.
The older DC adore their siblings and have been a great help as they were older when the younger 2 arrived.
I couldnt afford to go back to work until the youngest was 3 though, due to childcare costs.

I'm also one of 4..All very close in age.
All get on well.

As a pp mentioned...families are large with 4..
My parents have 9 grandchildren so far ( my DB is only one without kids but that will change soon)
We all have partners.
Family Gatherings are at moment, 19.

Going from 3 to 4 was pretty straight forward. I also had the feeling I wasn’t ‘done’, so did my DH.

We already had everything we needed and a routine, so the new baby just slotted into that. Also, DC3 started school just a couple of months after DC4 was born, which also made things a bit easier.

We went from 3 to 5 as we had unplanned twins (failed coil). It was exhausting but worth it and now we have a 6th, she's almost 7wk and a little treasure. All 3 onward have just slot in around the older ones, routines are your best friend with lots of kids.
