Hi,

If you have 3 children sharing a room, how do you fit beds in? What’s your set up?

After some inspiration!

We don’t, but have friends who put in two bunk beds. One of the lower bunks has cushions on and is used as a kind of “reading nook” for all of them.

I only have 2 sharing in bunk beds, you can get triple bunks.

As a child I shared a room with 3 siblings for a while. My Mum put in 2 bunk beds which worked well for us

My two sisters and I all shared a double bed, when we were younger. I didn't mind it personally.

Thanks!
My girls 7, and twins 4 have just gone into one room as big sister 9 wanted her own, and 7 year old isn’t bothered who she shares with.

7 year old is in a high sleeper and twins are sharing a single underneath until we figure out the best set up. I was thinking of a triple bunk but obviously the twins will need to be slightly older first.

Thanks for the ideas!

I had a friend at school who had lots of siblings (I think there were 12 in total-plus parents) and two of their rooms had two sets of bunk beds in each-4 boys in one, 4 girls in the other. The parents had another room and I think the oldest children shared rooms in the loft conversion.

My OH made a triple bunk for my 3, they love it and gives them a lot more floor space

My 3 are in triple bunk beds. They are still young but needs must. The oldest is 4 and a half and at the top, the 3 and a half year old is in the middle and my 22 month old is at the bottom. The 2 older ones were in normal bunk beds before we changed and my oldest is super sensible. We've got a baby monitor in there so they know to call us and not get out of bed alone at night.

You can get bunk beds that have a double bed on the bottom and a single on the top

Like this.

Although I think you should have a chat with the 9 year old and tell her that its just untill the 7 year old maybe changes her mind - it will be fine for now but it would be unfair for one to jnsist on her own room as they reach teens while the other three are crammed in together.

If it would be fit id be tempted to put one of those beds in each room and it means as they grow up, fall out, make up again etc then they can sleep in any combination plus have friends over etc
