Hi
We have 3 children and have decided to try for 1 more child. Can anybody tell me good experiences of 4th section? And what it was like going from 3 to 4. My children are 8, 6 and 4.
Thanks everyone.

Not me, but a close friend.

All fine, no issues.

However, she was sterilised at the same time as 4th C section, it was a long time ago though.

I had 4: my other children were 9, 6 and 17 months. I was warned about scar tissue, adhesions etc but the surgeon said there was no sign i had ever had a section. I do have a definite over hang, like a bumbag made of myself, but I was (and am) a bit overweight.

Thank you. The surgeon said after my 3rd that everything went well and I was ok to go for a 4th if I wanted too. How do you find it with 4 children was 3 to 4 a lot harder work? X

It was fine actually because the 17 month old was still a baby really in some ways, so cots and nappies and naps for two close in age is easier than having say a three year old and a newborn where one is at nursery, playdates etc. It was physically hard not being able to lift my toddler after the section, but she was very useful at fetching wipes etc. I would say "let's sit down and read a book" when i actually needed to breastfeed the newborn. 3-4 wasn't nearly as big a change as 2-3! My main difficulty was physically keeping them apart sometimes, as the toddler would climb into the baby's cot and bring her to me in the night, or if i left the room she would bounce her vigorously in her bouncy chair in a caring way. I invested in a big playpen and alternated who went in it while i was cooking for instance. They did spend a lot of time in the car and watching their older siblings do activities, but I have loved having four, it's a proper tribe!

Thank you for this. Have my first AF after coil today so can't wait to start trying. Thanks for sharing your experience xx
