Baby number 4?

Good evening

I’m thinking about baby number 4, but I’m scared to mention it to my husband! 😂 He knows I’d have loads if I could so it won’t be a massive shock. We have a 10, 8 and 4 y/o.

We have the space, secure jobs, financially fine etc. I’d need a bigger car (that’s not a mini-van). I worry I’m pushing us a bit far though if I suggest number 4. I love our fam and don’t want to upset the balance, but I can’t stop this weird yearning for another baby. I miss breastfeeding and the whole baby thing.

We’re due to move house within the next few weeks, and I’m writing my masters dissertation. So once all that stress is over I’m ready for this step.

How did you find number 4? And tips for ‘the chat’ with hubs?

I feel I should add - I don't feel particularly stressed (only the regular work stress, or MA deadline looming) and I am a confident, competent happy mum for most of the time! I love being a bigger family, and the thought of my kids getting older, going off to uni and becoming super people is amazing.

One more can't hurt, surely?

I’ve just finally decided to go for a number 4. DH was on the fence for ages but had finally agreed. Best of luck with “the chat”. I’m afraid I have no advice!

I was in a similar situation to you. Our 3 children are the same age as all of yours. We can handle another baby financially as we also have secure jobs. I loved the idea of a big family so after much discussion we decided to go for it. Four months later we have just found out that baby no 4 is on the way ❤️

Good luck OP.. my lot (7) are fab.. but I only gave birth to 3 so not quite the same. 2 step children live with us full time .. and two visit EOW.. I am similar to you in that I'm a mature student and work full time. I adore having a big family... perhaps because I came from one and we are all very close and supportive of each other - and I want that for my own family.

Luckily, so far so good. !

Thank you all - positive responses, lovely.

I guess my main hang up would be the alteration of the dynamics. I don't want my other kids to feel left out, or suffer because I'd have a new baby to feed all the time etc. I love to be able to do homework with them, read and generally mess around together! They're good kids, quite hands on themselves, and so loving. I'm sure it would be okay with them 🥴

We had 3, it was great. Decided to have a 4th and ended up with twins! The older 3 absolutely loved it, they all get on really well, and life is still just as fun, just a bit louder!

@mamawithfive oh wow ha ha!! I couldn't imagine that. I'm a twin myself so of course there's a possibility!
