Having a baby when dd is starting secondary school

Has anyone here had another baby with a child starting secondary school?
How did it work out for you?
I’m considering it but concerned I won’t be available as much as I’d like for settling in new school concerns and the general puberty/early teen issues as I’ll have a newborn or heavily pregnant
DD very keen for a new sibling but I just don’t want to make a mistake and given the big age gap 11/12 years I’ll have my hands full with a teenager and toddler tantrums!
Any advice would be great

I have one just gone into year 8 and am due in Feb, so far it's been lovely 😊

Teen is excited and can be involved and help.

My eldest has just started year 7! My youngest is now 11mo and I have a 9yo. All girls and it's lovely. I find the baby calms things down. My older two love helping. It really has been the best age gap x

It’s been great. Mine were 10&12 and absolutely love their little sister. No disruption in fact I was around more as on mat leave for a year and now part time. Now they’re 13& nearly 15 and it’s all good. They’re in their rooms more but let her come on bounce on their beds and spin on their chairs etc. Built in babysitters!

My eldest started year 7 two days before youngest (dc5) was born. He is lovely with the baby, very caring and helpful. He was the same when dc4 was born almost 3 years ago!

Does she want a new sibling? Or does she want company? Because they are very different things.

I am finding it all ok at the moment!

Eldest walks to school (secondary) with friends
10 year old also walks with a friend

They have been trained to pretty much sort their selves out in the mornings although do require some prompting

Leaves me with 6 year old, 2 year old and baby to sort out! Biggest thing i am finding causing issues is timing of babies bottle!

She has other siblings so it’s not a company thing I’m just trying to determine if it would be problematic juggling secondary school dynamics with a new baby if that makes sense;new school/puberty/new baby all at once

Op i get where your coming from. Its like two massive life events at the same time! Your first baby growing up, becoming more independent, lots of new challenges and experiences. At the same time as you go back to that start with a new baby!

I have a son 14 nearly 15 a daughter just gone 8 and a 3 month old and it's Brilliant for me the older two absolutely adore their baby bro and really enjoy helping me out so it's a win win for me and the kids
