When would you try for number 3?

I know I want three kids. Eldest two are 3 and 1, and I'm coming up to when I was trying to get pregnant for the second (and feeling just as broody). I wanted a close age range, and seeing my two bonding at the moment is lovely-Problem being that MIL has booked a family holiday for 12 months time that would be awkward pregnant. So if we try now and get the age gap I'd like (2-3 years between them all) I have to disrupt everything with a newborn, and if I wait another year I have a bigger age gap and if I go pregnant (the compromise) I'm abroad tired/ sick on holiday with two children and extended family. What do you think is the best scenario, I very much want another soon!

I’m not sure as only you know yourself how much of an age gap, but I had my first two 13 months apart and I have just had my 3rd baby 5 months ago, he is 4.5 years younger than my middle dd. I really love having this age gap between him and the other two - my eldest two will both be at school from
Next week which will be lovely to just have the one at home!
I’m broody for number 4 now though!

There is 2 years 2 months between 1 & 2
And 3 years 2 months between 2 & 3

I like the longer gap. It's been far easier.
However I would advise not waiting.

Child 1 was a contraception fail.
Child 2 I fell pregnant on the first try.

Number 3 took 9 months and 2 chemicals.

How long or inhospitable is the holiday that is planned? It seems a rather short term reason to delay something that is a lifelong decision for your family. And even if you were pregnant, you never know how it pans out. I ended up extremely ill during my third pregnancy and couldn’t do any of the things that were planned for us anyway. We have a 2.5 year gap between DC one and two and 4 year gap between DC2 and DC3. It’s a little bit larger gap then I would like but my older two will both be in school while I’m at home with the baby. And having them both older when he’s arrived has made it feel quite a bit easier than I remember a 2.5-year-old who depended on me for pretty much everything and a newborn felt when I had my second. So maybe a slightly bigger gap is worth considering anyway?

I wish I knew the broodyness would go! The holiday is theme park one, and would be difficult with a baby, and shared rooms/ etc, and spoilt by being heavily pregnant. But I want another one already (so badly) how on earth so I distract myself for a year?! I think 5 -6 months onward the craving to be pregnant again rears its head,and it's just been getting steadily worse.

How special is the holiday? Was it a surprise booking from your MIL?
I'm with you on the age gap situation. I would also choose about 2 1/2 years.

Would you feel really left out not being able to go on rides etc? If you're going to Disney in the US, I understand there's a lot more to it and you can get plenty of enjoyment out of other aspects of it. Same for Efteling. So for these id be aiming for 5/6 months pregnant. If it's Paris Disney, I don't think I'd be letting that dictate the baby situation personally.
