6 year old 4 year old & newborn..

I have currently a 5 year old, soon to be 4 year old and have found out I am pregnant. My first born will be 6 when baba is here and my daughter 4. Has anyone got similar age gap? and honestly is it much harder going from 2-3 than it was 1-2?

I have an almost 6 year old, an almost 4 year old and an 8 month old. It was harder going from 1-2 than 2-3 and in the early days the baby slotted in very easily. The last few months have been trickier, just because the baby still feeds a lot in the night, it’s hard to fit milk, sleeps and food around the school run and I have no local family support.

I love having 3 though and watching the older 2 with the baby is lovely. He adores them too. The washing seems to never end though and we had to get a new car. I can see it will get a bit easier once the baby is on the same schedule as the bigger 2 and my family feels complete.

I had a DD 3 weeks ago, in the same month my DSes turned 7 and 4. So far I’d say 2 to 3 has been easier than 1-2, for a few reasons:

• going from 1-2 meant DS1 had to get used to the idea of a sibling and sharing me, now both are used to that

-the age gap means only the newborn is in nappies

-age gap means I get a good amount of time alone with newborn and to nap a bit

-we’re more experienced parents, lifestyle already adjusted around children

-also cos we’re experienced we’re less stressed by difficult phases like sleep deprivation

-we aren’t/can’t be precious about silence, baby seems to be going with the flow

2-3 was a piece of cake baby slotted right in. Dc were 7 and 3 when dc3 arrived.
In fact it was so easy when dc3 was 14 weeks old I was pregnant again!
That was a whole different ball game though!

I have twins. In the early days I was curious to see how they would bond with each other. I love watching DD physically assist her twin brother out of the bathtub and bed. She also brings his special shoes and toys to him. So cute. I’m more experienced because I’m a mom of twins. We are planning on having another baby in the spring of 2020. It will probably be easier because I’m hoping that they will help me out as much as possible.

When dc3 was born, dc1 was 5y3m and dc2 was 2y10m.
I found 2-3 the easiest transition of all. They just have to fit in. You worry less. Stress less. Realise X or y aren't really important inthe grand scheme of things.
