Double pushchair and buggy board? 3 under 4!

Can anyone please recommend a double buggy which can comfortably take a buggy board as well? I have DD aged 3.5, DS aged 18 months and baby on the way. DD still needs to use a buggy board as we live a fair walk from town. I have researched pushchairs but can't seem to find any which fit the bill - hoping someone knows of one?!

I used to have a babyjogger city mini double which I absolutely loved!
It worked with both the standard lascal(?) buggy board and also I had a kid sit board which was good for tired legs.

Hi I had the same age gap when my third was born and I agonised over pushchairs! I bought the mountain buggy diet which is a dream because it fits through doorways. It has an attached buggy board/scooter which is actually very clumsy so I wouldn’t recommend it. I put the lascal buddy board on but I actually found pushing a double buggy with a three year old on a buggy board whilst recovering from ( a very good) birth is not a good idea and gave me terrible neck and shoulder problems. I don’t want to be negative but just saw the thread and wanted to pass on my experience. The solution for me was to let my eldest use her scooter under very strict rules- the scooter neatly fit in the buggy basket so she could walk holding on to the buggy when we were on tight pavements and shops. She got tired and had to learn to be very sensible with road safety but that was just the consequence of having a baby sister which she adored Smile good luck!

Thank you both, much appreciated. The pavements near us are hilly and too close to the road to feel safe with DD scooting, unfortunately. Hmmm. I was also thinking sling + single pushchair + buggy board for immediately after the birth but thinking about what you've said Mummycamel, that might be too much physically too...

When I had three similar age I used a double and a sling for the baby for 6 months. Once baby was too heavy in sling at 6 months the 4and a half year old could easily walk anywhere.

I have a (just turned last week) 3 year old, 17 month old and a 2 day old!

I use a Bugaboo Donkey, with a carry cot for the baby and a seat unit for the toddler, then my 3 year old goes on the buggy board which has a seat attached. It's perfect, although I do appreciate Bugaboo comes with a hefty price tag.

Thanks very much for the advice and tips. ImAce ooh I would love a Bugaboo! Can you get it through normal doors though...?

Phil and Ted's Sport takes a buggy board and a newborn. I've ordered one from Precious Little One as they are on for £449 with the double kit. Taking an age to dispatch so haven't received it yet.

I will have 3 under 3 so planning to use my bugaboo donkey with the bugaboo buggy board. Absolutely adore my donkey but it is big! It goes through door ways but can be a tight squeeze! I walk a lot though so wanted something easy to push and comfy for the kids.

Uppababy vista would fit the bill. The newer model has two "full" seats and can also swap a carrycot for one of them. The older model has a more make-do seat for the toddler and can't be used with a carrycot, so just be wary if you're looking at second hand. The buggy board on the Uppa though is very good.

As someone has said though, a sufficiently robust pushchair plus three children will be very heavy.

Out and About Nipper works well with a Lascal Maxi buggyboard.

We used a lascal buggy board with an outnabout double nipper too. 16 months between my twins and singleton. Love the nipper, it's a dream to push.

I managed to get 4 kids under 5 on my single jogger! One on board, baby in seat, toddler straddling the hood and another sitting on the foot rest.

Wouldn’t recommend it for safety though. Only did that once!

I had 3 under 3 and I had the Uppababy vista double with the lascal buggy board. The basket is also big enough so my eldest would suit in it with her feet up on the buggy board when she didn't want to stand. It is heavy but it is also very robust.

Hi, I had the Bugaboo Donkey for two under two and although very robust and comfortable for the children it was wide and bulky. It did fit most places but only just. I recommend you check you can fit it through your front door before considering it.

My two are now 3.5 and 2 and after they outgrew the Donkey I was until most recently using a single stroller (Bugaboo Bee) and board but I’ve found it’s just too heavy with both of them to push for long so drive most places now. If you are planning on pushing three I’d probably aim to look for the most lightweight double out there as all the weight does take its toll after a while!

I had a buggy board on my Phil and teds when I had 3 of similar ages. I agree that is not ideal as it is hard to push but it did the job for the short while that I needed it
