Absent parent privileges

Help me!! Love my mum to bits but my oldest son just got engaged... party imminent. Problem... my youngest son is with his dad that night. All ys contact through solicitor and I am adamant I will not ask the man for anything. My mum thinks I should request a change!! Who's right?

Party should be held on a date when youngest is with you.
