Anyone in their late 30's considering a 4th?

I have a 14 yo, 3 yo and 1 yo, and life seems to be getting a bit less stressful!

I just can't decide whether to try for one last one! Grin

We have room, could afford it etc, but it would mean me most probably having to give my career up, and as I do the bulk of the childcare, it's obviously more work for me!

Has anyone in similar circumstances made the jump? Or regretted not?

If you are concerned about your age -? I had a ds at 37 and one at 43. No different than my pregnancies when I was younger!!

I do worry about the potential for additional health implications!

We only planned 4 but have ended up with 6!

I was 27, 29, 33, 37 and then 39 when I had each of mine. The last was twins. It was definitely more tiring but I don't know if that was age or twins of a mix of bpth. None of my pgs have been very easy, lots of sickness, aches etc. but I don't think age has made much difference.

I had 3 vaginal births then an ecs and then an elcs. I was advised not to have any more kids (not that I wanted to anyway).

But then again every pregnancy and birth carries risk whether it's your first or 10th.

Your eldest will be able to help a lot. This makes a big difference.

How do you feel about giving up your career? If this is a big compromise for you and you don't want to then I wouldn't do it.

Also another thing to consider: could you cope with 5? Unlikely but, especially if there is family history, twins is always a possibility

It's so difficult, as with my last 2 I KNEW that I wasn't done yet, but now I'm not sure! The jump from 2 to 3 young children worries me, but I don't want to regret not trying for a last child!
