15,13,10 & pregnant - very big gap!!

As the title says, I am pregnant and my children are 15yrs, 13yrs & 10yrs.
This was planned, kinda, now I'm wondering exactly what I have let myself in for!
We have no baby stuff at all but we did recently buy a 7 seater, so at least we can get about!
Also I'm not as young as I was, will be 38 when baby is born at the end of may, and I have big babies, ds3 was 10lb3

Congratulations - how lovely! You will be fine - it will all come back to you very quickly, and it will also whizz by, so cherish every minute.

You also have a set of ready made helpers and babysitters right there - are your DC excited?

I was 12 when my youngest sister was born, we have such a close bond because I can remember her being tiny and coming home from the hospital if that makes sense

Also should have said, I have an 11yr gap between DS and DD, and found out I was pregnant just after I was 40. Having her has kept me feeling young, especially when mixing with younger mums at the school gate.

Yes the children are excited, especially dd 15 yrs - she keeps coming up with names 😊
Space is an issue, dd has a box room and the two boys share now, obviously baby will be in with us for a while anyway, then we will see what happens I guess

Congratulations!! And don't worry! I've got DS1 who is 11 and DS2 3 months. It's brilliant. We'd sold everything so had to start from scratch but you realise you don't need as much. DS1 is fabulous with the baby, no jealousy etc. it breathes new life into the house. Exciting times

Ha ha, re the jealousy, DD went through a phase of being jealous of her big brother - she couldn't get her head around the idea that I was his Mummy too

DS1 is twelve, and I'm expecting b/g twins, so I know how you feel! DS is thrilled to pieces at the thought that he's going to be a big brother, and given what I've seen of him with the kids in our extended circle (who range from slightly older than he is right down to newborn) he's going to be a really good big brother.

Congratulations. There is 20 year gap between my eldest and youngest. It worked very well, they have a very close bond and the eldest found the experience of having a much younger sibling very positive when she had her first dc. She knew what to expect (good and bad!) and is a fantastic mum.

toujeo that's lovely!! I'm guessing they didn't need to share a room though, my boys are going to have to if it's a boy, I said we would make a den for the day by boarding out the shed, then the bedroom could be for sleeping only
