How to go from 2 to 3 children

Hi all,

Me and my hubby have recently started taking about having a 3rd child. We currently have a 7year old son and a 2 year old daughter. I am wondering how you family has changed going from 2 to 3 children. I think my daughter will be fine it's my son I am worried about he's just slowly coming round to the idea of another sibling. Any advice would be greatly appreciated x

In terms of parenting I have found number 3 by far the easiest. The only bad thing is sometimes having to wake the baby up from a nap to go and do a school run which makes me feel so guilty!

As for your son only you know him but he will have a lot of time to get used to the idea and with plenty of reassurance and an effort to make sure he gets one on one time he will be fine. The one thing to remember is not to expect too much of him. My 5 year old recently told him I'm always saying "in a minute" & I know I need to try to stop that and be there for him more and not think just coz he's not a baby he can wait always. Having 3 is the best decision I ever made. Good luck!

Hi Vicky, I'm currently pregnant with my 1st wasn't planned and I'm worried aswell, I also have an older son 5years and a daughter 15 months, I've decided to find out this time and I'm having another girl! I think it will be quiet nice tho now for my son because he can be the big older brother to two sisters 18montjs apart , so no advice but I'll be watching your thread closely and slowly panicking on the inside hahaha x

Thanks for the replies. When we had our little girl we found ourselves at first saying to our son he needed to play quietly round his sister etc but then he broke our heart when he said every changed when his sister came along ?? after that we thought why should things chance his sister had to get used to the noise etc she's now a very bossy butter wouldn't melt 2 year old lol. My son is coming round to the idea of having a baby but would prefer a brother abit difficult for him to get his head around that he isn't able to choose. Me and my hubby have a lot of thinking to do due to other medical issues which we are going to speak to the doctor about before we even try then I worry we may not be able to conceive as when we decided to have our little girl my husband was just going to start treatment for testicular cancer x

Vicky, did he bank any sperm before treatment?
My bloke had tc inc surgery and chemo last summer. His latest results (a year after chemo) show no problems with his sperm.

As for 3 kids, well...you just crack on don't you!
