Hello

I'm almost 9 weeks with number 4.
already have
DS12, DD10, DD16Months.
I've never felt so tired, lethargic or ill even when I was pregnant with my first and was constantly vomiting I still managed to work full time, I was 13 years younger than I am now I know but this lethargy and lack of motivation is new to me.
Any of you ladies had forth pregnancies like this?

I was utterly exhausted, yes!

In the latter stages of my fourth pregnancy I had a 4yo, a 2yo and a 13yo.

I was 35 at the time.

It's tough, get as much rest as you can, but then I know that you already know this.

Are you working full time?

skinnyamericano · 28/06/2014 13:54

You're older and have 3 other children to look after!!

I felt ok with my fourth, but definitely very tired and more nauseous.

Congratulations!

DC4 is due any day, there is so much less down time with 3 to look after, even small jobs add up and before you know it's bedtime and you haven't stopped all day.

I was as sick as anything at the beginning, I just about mustered the motivation to keep going through the week but by the weekend all I wanted to do was slob about.

The one good thing with this pregnancy is that the time has past by very quickly as I've been busy with the other DC's.

Congratulations!

Its having three other children to look after. When I was in the later stages with my fourth I was 24 and I had a 4 yo, 3yo, 18 month old and I was exhausted all the time, I went to bed not long after the DCs.

In fact I think I was more tired from 26 weeks than I was when he was born and had me up half the night.

You sound anaemic to me.

I was so exhausted in pregnancy no.4 that I'd come back from the school run, put on 'Homes under the Hammer' and wake up wondering why they were in a Doctor's surgery. Several hours had passed and I hadn't even noticed. And this happened nearly every day.

Seriously though, get your iron levels checked. You may just need iron tablets.

Teabiscuits · 29/06/2014 13:53

I'm 30 weeks with number 4. DCs are 7, 5, and 1, I'm shattered all the time as well! I think it's that having 3 to look after is pretty full on anyway, and being pregnant just tips you over the edge. I also feel like my body is protesting being pregnant again, but that's probably my imagination!

I admire anyone who copes with more that 4. We are done

Would see gp if you feel really terrible though, just to get checked over. Hope you feel better soon.

WaxyDaisy · 29/06/2014 13:55

4th was the hardest.

You sure it's not twins Wink?

Bobbingalongnicelyalmost · 29/06/2014 15:32

Thank you for u our replies.

I was thinking maybe I'm anemic, I'm taking my pre - natal vitamins but doesn't have a very large amount of iron in them. I'm seeing the midwife on Wed so ill mention it.

I forgot to mention I'm still breastfeeding my DD a couple of times a day so that's not helping probably.

It just feels different this time, every evening I get so bloated and get stomach ache (food stomach not uterus) it renders me useless as it's so painful. I keep thinking I'm just being soft.

Twins!! I hadn't thought about that!

No I'm not working (apart from trying to run the house) and my husband is super helpful and helps loads......maybe I'm just getting old at 38 and my body is telling me this needs to be the last one Confused Smile

I had a pregnancy like you are describing. It turned out to be twins. We had a three year old and a one year old at the time. Grin

Misfitless · 29/06/2014 23:55

Shock twins!!!

That hadn't occurred to me either. Had forgotten that I had really low iron levels. Reading pp reminded me of it. Maybe it's low iron levels and twins Grin!
