Best gift for mum expecting #3

A friend is expecting her third in the next two weeks and I am struggling to think of a great gift for her. She already has a boy 10mo and a girl 4 yrs. She is having another girl so will already have loads of clothes, toys, etc for her.

I MUST get her something great. She has been so helpful to me with my 5mo boy - including giving me LOADS of clothes (seriously she has given me a complete wardrobe) for my lo and so much advice.

She really already has all the baby stuff....was considering a voucher for something like ASDA as the have all the basics but it seems really impersonal but at the same time very practical which might be good? For all you mums out there with more than a couple of kids - what did you wish people gave you?

Thank you!!

I would get a really pretty outfit or beautiful blanket. I always loved when people gave me something new just for that baby - yes I had outfits and blankets from the others but even when it's your 5th baby you still want to get them all dressed up and wrapped in a brand new snugly blanket the same as with the first! Not just in the practical hand me downs.

a few little luxuries for the new mum, nice handsoap & moisturiser, big bar of chocolate for energy etc. By the time I got to #3, it was lovely to have any gift, but what stood out were the friends who just dropped in something small for ds and e.g. a casserole or something else that made life easier in the early days.

Personalised pram blanket.

A kilo of dairy milk.
A regular subscription - so something new appears every month.

When the twins (1st set) were born my best friend made me a gift basket. It had chocolate, hand cream & sanitizer, bottle of shloer, a few burp cloths, and 2 "batch of frozen food" vouchers that she said if I gave her one of the vouchers she would make me a few days/week's worth of food - she knew I didn't really like asking for help so it was her solution for being there if I needed her :)

I second the blanket idea. A lovely one from mamas and papas...

I'm expecting my this any day and my friends have just surprised me with a delivery of frozen gourmet meals from a company called 'Cook' simply amazing!

What kind of things does she like? I had a foodie friend give birth so made her a hamper of all the things she couldn't eat while pregnant like pate and cheeses. I think you also can't beat a beautiful book for a child

Magazine subscription
Nice toiletries
New top for her to wear

Best gifts I had for dc4 were a homemade cake every week for the first few weeks and a pram blanket for the baby.

The cake baker also invited us all round for tea 1 night every week after school for the first few weeks so that I had one night where I didn't have to think and the older dc were entertained and fed.

She would still need nappies and wipes

Storage baskets - nice wicker one?

Ikea stuff - great things in there for a nursery
