Cotbed under mid sleeper?

Would this work/fit?

Not keen to go straight to bunk beds as they're under 3. The room is big enough for two cots/beds (we have this now) but there's a load of mould that keeps reappearing in one place above dd1s bed :( so I'd rather they were both on the other side of the room..

You can buy low bunk beds or bunk bed cots. They are on the internet somewhere, but can't remember what they were called, sorry. Or you could top and tail them (depending on the youngest ones age) in a full size bed with a roll net on the side.

Was trying to say you should try to get the mould sorted out instead - if it's appeared in a patch the spores will be all over the room, they don't just fall straight down.

Thanks all, and oh I know, god knows what to do about the mould. There wasn't any when we moved in 6 months ago! DP did clean and it came back quickly.

We never dry clothes on radiators ffs :(

It might just be that sort of a house Loveyouthree, our current one is, I bought a dehumidifier and that has sorted out the damp/mold (and I can use it to dry washing).

DS has slept in a mid-sleeper since before he was 3 with no problems. When my nephew stays we can fit the travel cot half under the midsleeper (clearance is something like 80cm) but he can't stand up in the cot - there's only a few centimetres of space between the top of the cot sides and the underside of the bed, hence only pushing it half under the midsleeper.

If you are using the cot bed with the sides off though I think it would be fine.

There is a place that does made to measure bunks very cheaply, will go find it, will do L shapes and all sorts so could be very very low. We also took the bottom couple of rungs off our ladders so they couldn't climb up there during the daytime.

I used to have a cot under a high sleeper which was fine. I think you'd be ok under a midi as long as you're not planning to use the sides of the cot (ie it's just a small bed) Otherwise you'd risk banging your youngest's head on the midi sleeper whilst lifting them in.and out.

I have this set up in my boys room, cot bed (in bed mode) under the mid sleeper, will be doing the same with a toddler bed under the mid sleeper in my dds room soon - not that anyone sleeps in the bloody thing - damn you co sleeping ds2! :D

Check the gutterings, cement work and tiles on the roof, also downpipes can be a source of damp - especially in this weather. If you're renting, get your landlord to check. It could also be condensation which a dehumidifier could help with as well as allowing some ventilation. If you repaint, kill the mould first and paint a mould-inhibiting paint. Unfortunately, if the source of damp isn't dealt with, it will come back.
