9/10yrs. With reminders to do it though.

It'd only be cereal/toast etc nothing complicated.

Not a large family only 2 but they both make their own breakfasts on weekends and school holidays, during the week they are at breakfast club! (5 almost 6 and 7 year olds)

I have three boys aged 12, 9 and 5. All but the you gets has been getting their own breakfast for at least two years. They also get breakfast for their youngest brother. But it is just fruit, cereal and toast. No cooking.

Why no cooking? And at what age do you think they'll be able to make, say scrambled egg?

My 7 year old makes himself cereal and toast plus his drink. My 5 year old makes his own cereal but I do his toast

May depend if you care whether they eat or not, or what they eat. My teenager just refuses to organise himself and he doesn't get any more rational if he hasn't eaten. So best if I make sure to get a decent meal into him.

From about 6. 9 year old now makes himself scrambled eggs and bacon, fried egg sandwiches, beans etc. 12 year old cooks a full roast dinner!

2 boys. Learning to cook and being independent are two of the greatest things I could think of to teach my two... they NEVER have to wait for food! haha

My older two can cook. It's just we don't have cooked breakfasts

Eldest loves a JO recipe to follow

My 8 and 6 year old do, the older desperately begged for to be able to do it a couple years back. They still haven't mastered portions, but they and their siblings love being in charge of it.
