Where do you get feet measured when you don't want to/can't afford Clarks shoes?

You can buy a clarks foot measurer on Amazon.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 29/07/2013 12:00

You could always get Clarks to measure their feet and then buy the shoes elsewhere I suppose.

dottyaboutstripes · 30/07/2013 11:59

I find it's more a question of having them fitted, often they need a different size from what their measurement is. Do you live near an outlet where they could be fitted?

5madthings · 30/07/2013 12:04

Have you tried brantano?

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 07/08/2013 18:04

I get them measured at Clarks and their main shoes are bought there (school shoes for the older ones, trainers for the little). Armed with this information, I buy other shoes I want "nearly new" on ebay. Not foolproof, but I am cautious about what get and no dreadful fits so far and enables them to have a smart Sunday pair and out-of-hours play shoes. Have tried cheap shoes and they were a false economy.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 07/08/2013 18:06

You don't have to buy even if you have their feet measured and I often ask if there is any sale stock, even if it isn't on view, as it can't hurt.

BeehavingBaby · 07/08/2013 18:09

I have all girls so bulk buy in the sale and they generally fit sobering eventually, picked up how to fit from watching with dd1 and 2, they still measure their feet, I just say that I have that size at home already :)

BeehavingBaby · 07/08/2013 18:09

Someone not sobering!

TheOneWithTheHair · 07/08/2013 18:13

I go to John Lewis. Last time I got my dcs measured at Clarks I was so sceptical I didn't even try on any shoes. Dd had apparently gone up two sizes in 8 weeks even though her current shoes still fit and ds2 apparently went down a foot size Confused.

I won't take them to Clarks again.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 07/08/2013 18:23

Actually, ours is an independent shop which sells Clarks, which I prefer to the Clarks' shop in town.

I used to travel a couple of hours to an outlet, which was worth while when buying shoes, trainers, football boots and slippers for them all. I now buy shoes and trainers at the end of the sales (often only £5-10) and take them in to be fitted at the beginning of the school year/when feet seem to have grown. Should be able to sell on new shoes on eBay if it turns out they don't fit anyone.

I have tried cheaper shoes in the past but also found them a false economy.

Soditall · 20/09/2013 21:38

Most of the shoe shops near us do shoe measuring.Have you tried popping into different shop shops to ask?

lljkk · 21/09/2013 09:06
