Larger families!! Shall we have a roll call?

Who fancies checking in with names and more importantly NUMBERS!!!

5 kids of my own. 3 boys, 2 girls. Plus DD2s bf during uni holidays as his parents have emigrated. Plus 'adopted' 21yo DD (friend of eldest DD - her single mother died when she was in 6th form so she moved in with us) now back from uni. So, often 7 of them, aged 21 - 7.

We're used to the chaos. I'm No 5 out of 8 siblings. DH is eldest of 5.

I have x4 DS. 4, 6, 8 and 8.

Sometimes I feel like a freak.

Does anyone else get the question, how do you cope with that many DC?
I don't think I have ever thought about "coping" I just get on with what ever needs doing regardless of how many DC i have or is that just me?

We have 4 DCs under 6 - 2 DDs and 2 DSs. Love reading about all of you others with larger families and feeling some solidarity

It's so nice there are so many of us, and loads like us 3DDs 1DS, I don't think 4 is larger everyone else does though.

We're definitely stopping at 4, SPD pregnancies I don't think I could cope being pregnant again, feel its unfair on the others plus they all have their own bedrooms now and if we had another 2 would have to share plus the cost plus the sheer mental and physical exhaustion. In saying that I am very sad that my baby DS is turning 3 next month.

am obviously a junior member here with only 4DC.

DSD is 10. DD1 is 3, DD2 is 11 months and DC3 will be born in August.

DC3 was a complete accident. We never meant to have a "large" family. We found out i was pregnant 10 days before DH was due to go in for the big snip.

Pregnant with maybe #5 & #6. I have 4 other children. MoMo boys (6 months), ds1 (4) and dd (who turned 2 today.)

We said we'd stop at 5 but when the new arrival and dts are older say around 3, we've agreed to try again. I'm only 23 and dh is 28 so I've got plenty of time.

I have 'only' 4 kids - 3 DS and 1 DD aged between 8 years and almost 8 weeks!

Not that large, but large to me.

4 DC's, DD is 15, DS1 is 11, DS2 is 9, and DS3 is 2yo.

I also have an angel baby. He comes between DS2 & DS3 (hence the large gap).

He would be just about to turn 4yo in a few days.

So, really, in my heart, I have 5 DC's, but when I say that in RL people look at me as if I'm weird.

So to me, really, it would go

DD 15, DS1 11, DS2 9, AngelDS 4, DS3 2.

People are shocked when they realise my girl is my eldest!!

4 Dc's here. 3 ds and 1 dd. Oldest is 15 and youngest is 2.
Crazy to think that we spent years deciding whether to go for a third and within a year of having ds3, I was expecting a fourth! How did that happen?

I had 4dc, dh had 5dc and we had 1dc together! 10 over here ranging from 18 months to 18 years! We are now done!

A bit late but the school holidays nearly wiped me out
I have 5 boys ( 12,10,10,5,8mths).
I know another mum with 4boys inc. twins& another with 5 boys. Makes a huge difference to find people with similar families

Can I also ask how many of you work & whether it is full time or part time? I need to go back to work & debating whether I can cope full time

Another junior member here. 4dc's from 14 - 2, 3dd's and 1ds. Big gaps between them all. If I was younger and could afford some help in the house, I definitely would have more but I think I'm done now, although sometimes I still think what if. Would love to have another ds to even out the numbers, and just the experience of raising another ds.

notnagging, I work full-time, though am able to work from home one day a week. I always have, so just seems normal to me (I'm pregnant with no.6). If you have hands-on dp and share out staying-at-home when dcs are sick it is very doable

I have 5 too, 3 girls, 2 boys and ranging from 22 to 3. My youngest is off to school in september, not sure where that time went!

I'm expecting my 6th in Nov, also on the antenatal thread.
11 year old dd, 9 year old ds, 6 year old ds, 14 month old dd and sadly my other daughter was stillborn at 37 weeks in dec 2010.

I only have 3! Feel very inadequate here :)

Hankering after number 4 but it's looking impossible unlikely with my reluctant dh.

Just the 5 here. 3 DDs and 2DSs. All lovely children, but huge creators of mess and noise.

I have have 4 under 5. 3 boys and 1 girl (4, 7mo Id twins, 2).

I'm also PG with my 2nd set of twins. Fraternal this time.

I work full time but take a year off (til child turns 1) then I go back to work. We can afford it and dh and I share responsibility so it works and I have semi-retired DF for child care.
