Tell me about 5

I have 3 children from my previous marriage and 1 who is two with my husband. The older three spend 3 nights a week at their dads and my youngest misses them. I am def broody for another but scared of making the decision and I dont know why! Is there a transition from 4 - 5? I personally feel a baby would just slot in but everyone thinks I am crazy! Am I? I do work but am self employed so more flexible!

Hi Rayn, we have five and it's very busy but very rewarding. I childmind so our house is eternally chaotic :)

We have 5. I have found it fantastic so far ( oldest is 8 and youngest is 11 months).

I am now overdue with my 5th and have children the same ages as yours. 3 teenagers and a 23 month old (who was a surprise). Because of the big age gap we decided to have a 5th. Don't know what it will be like with 5 as baby hasn't arrived yet, but did find that our 4th child fitted in remarkably well, despite the massive age gap, so no concerns about the 5th.

Obviously, I would go for a 5th if I were you.

Just to update you. Baby number 5 is now 9 weeks old and has not caused any big changes to be made to family life. Child number 4 is already enjoying the company during the day. I can hardly wait for the baby to be mobile so they can play together. Trying to persuade DH for number 6 but he is too concerned about the cost.

We have 5 (oldest 9, youngest 2) and I found it didn't make much difference having another-same amount of arguments, and not much more hard work. Mainly because older ones cause all the arguments. I say go for it. If you already have 4, then 5 is not that big a step.

I have five and I find it to be quite easy to work with though admittedly the oldest (20) has moved out and the youngest is 13 but when they were younger only two of them really didn't like each other but my dd and my 2 ds (all 13) were very close and were best friends but they did get up to mischief and still do
