expecting no 5!

Need to hear lots of positive stories from those with 5 (or more!)

My current 4 are aged 6,5,2, and 9 months. Baby no.5 was completely unplanned, managed to get caught before DH had the snip (which he has had now I hasten to add!)

We are already busy with 4 of them and I am having minor panic attacks about how we are going to manage with an extra one! So please tell me it is not that bad going from 4 to 5....!

I've got six and its fine honestly, though I won't lie it is hectic at times Wink

I found the transition from four to five one of the easiest so fingers crossed it will be the same for you too!

Hope you have a lovely easy pregnancy and congrats again you're lovely surprise baby Grin

Thanks for the positive words! I'm 16 weeks, but have only had our first scan this week so now it all seems a bit more real!

Good that four to five seemed easiest maytheodds - I know in reality we will just manage somehow, but I always seem to panic a bit before hand (was the same when we were expecting no.4!)

I think I am also partly worried about the reaction from other people. We already have more than most people I know, and people already tell me I must be crazy with 4....

I like that analogy pinky of counting them on one hand! I was thinking of telling people that we wanting to get maximum value for money out of our car (7 seater...!) so we needed another baby to fill it!

I had number 5 in October and I agree that 4 to 5 isn't really too bad at all, the only noticeable difference in some ways is the extra laundry Wink. Tbh, I'm finding the biggest challenge having a baby and toddler (I have 3 dds, 10, 9, 6, and 2 ds's, 2 and 6mths) so a gap I'd never had before. You will be absolutely fine (more than fine!). Just breath and smile at the comments - they say more about how the commenter would cope (or not) than you.
5 is my lot though I think, though I do have a thing about even numbers..Wink

I have 5. 16yrs, 11, 10, 8 and 7. I found going from 2 to 3 the hardest. 4 to 5 was a piece of cake compared.

Discodaisy I also found 2 to 3 the hardest! I thought it was just because I'd had a bigger gap (of 3 years!) so had just got out of the whole baby thing!

I'm hoping an extra one won't make too much difference. We don't really go out on our own now as even with 4 it is just too many to mess about getting looked after...so from that point of view there won't be much change there!

Diege I know what you mean about the washing...I already feel like I would be qualified to run a laundrette....only bad timing is that baby is due in Nov, so definately no drying any washing outside Sad. May just have to invest in another drying rack!

Please don't panic, I had my 5th last sept and he's so lovely! I had promised that would be it but not sure now. Mine are spaced out a bit more but I have step children too! I know it will probably feel Luke a blur but try to enjoy it's gone in a flash Grin

Just wanted to say I have 4ds's 10,8,6 and 4 and now dd 5weeks old and can honestly say 4 to 5 has been the easiest. Congratulations!Smile

I had my 5th 8 months ago and found it quite hard. It went from just manageable to chaos! But, its alot of fun in my house, everyone wants to come and play and that makes me feel good. My kids are generally happy, yes they do fight, but when it comes down to it, they are all there for eachother. Its lovely.

It will be fine, try and go with the flow...

We drive a Renault Grand Scenic, 7 seater, but getting too small. The kids always argue over who has to sit in the back, drives me mad.

We have a tourneo. Mine are all young though and we need a double buggy - mine are 5,4,4,nearly2 and nearly2. I went from 1 to 3 to 5 so can't comment on the singleton increase.

You need a dryer!

Really, it will make things much more manageable. You can get by with far fewer clothes when you have a dryer. Plus, you are not depending on the weather for drying and you can cut out a lot of ironing - just fold clothes well when they come out hot.

I barely noticed adding my 5th. The biggest change I found was going from 1 DC to 2, mainly I think because there was a three year gap there. All the rest just fitted in, napped in the car a lot, ate a lot of stuff they found on the floor, etc..
