What do other families of 6 drive?

We have a Previa which gets driven all the time and a focus which never gets driven as it doesn't have enough room for kids, dogs and bikes.
The kids are getting older and we are having to split up to get everyone where they need to be more often these days.
We could do with something with that could take a couple of kids, the dogs and bikes at least, but I didn't feel decadent in driving around on my own.

We have the grande espace, proper boot on it!

We have a C8 and there are 6 of us. Dh & I, ds1 (8) dd (4) ds2 (4) & ds3 (3)

we have a kia sedona (3 kids not 4 so cheating!).

Have you considered and VW estate (passat or similar) rather than an mpv if you want to get the dogs in too.

Kia Sedona, it's brill, you can completely remove any spare seat for extra baggage room

If you want something that just take you and kids (i.e. leaving DH at home) we have a golf estate as our 2nd car. It is a great little car, the estate bit means I can get all of my 4DCs stuff in and them, we upgraded our interior so it had all 3 point belts (as its an 02 plate so had a lap belt) and then if you put a tow bar on and a thule easy base then you can put either bike carriers, roof box, bags etc on the tow bar (I don't have enough height to put anything on the roof even though it is a short car)

Vauxhall Zafira.

Used to have a Ford Galaxy but Zafira is better because in approximately 10 seconds you can slide the two rear seats away to make a large boot area for trips shopping and to tip etc.
In bigger MPVs like the Galaxy you have to lift out heavy seats and store them in shed or garage.

We drive a Ford S-Max, we had one for four years and just bought our second one! It's absolutely great, it drives like a dream, it doesn't look or feel like a van and masses of room. The new model has an amazing panoramic roof, the kids love it!

I am a big fan!

Multipla - which has taken a while to get used to after having a Lucida (which I loved). It's nice to have seats which aren't in the boot, which we specifically didn't want, as there's 6 of us in it a lot of the time, as opposed to just occasionally using the two rear seats, iyswim.

Coming in late here but we drive a Nisan Quasquai and I think if you split up it will have nicely room for bikes scooters etc. We used it whilst niece was living with us so 5 kids 2 adults..

C8 7 proper seats and still has a boot, we only use 6 seats took one out and DD1 uses the back seat at weekends, masses of room and electric sliding doors.

Bad points drives like a van, so heavy and slow, drinks the diesel.

I would love a SMAX

A Vote for Renault grand scenic here. Seats move independently, rear ones easy to put up and down. Still enough boot space just about. 3 Full size seat in middle rather than small centre one.

Much better than Zafira we had before!

KIA Sedona. Not the most attractive of cars but it is so light to drive (it has to be an '09 plate upwards, those have a much lighter engine), electric sliding doors, removable seats, parking camera :), good boot space even with all 7 seats in use.

I desperately didn't want a mum-mobile but after looking at every single one on the Market I still think we chose the most functional, practical 7 seater of them all.

Will be glad when the lease runs out next year though, DS1 will be driving himself by then and we can go back to a normal sized car hooray! May get a cheaper, older Sedona as well though to use at weekends etc as they're just so practical!
