opinions please, best time to have no4 ?

Finally reached a decision to go for no4 ... I think

After alot of thought now we have decided dh would like to go for it asap whereas I'm wondering whether to start trying at the end of the yr as it means if I conceive straight away the little one would arrive around the same time dc2 starts school.

The first three are fairly close in age all under four when dc3 arrived and I found things easier when dc1 started school but on the other hand it would be a bigger gap still not huge but bigger than the rest

Any wise words and opinions appreciated.

Mine are just about to turn 7 and 5, one's just turned 1. Am hoping to have a fourth next year some time, ideally June or July (just like the others!).

I've always thought there's never really a good time to have a baby, and by that logic, there's never really a bad time either.

Thanks I'm just aware that a baby arriving around June or July time would be hard for me and possible dcs and it would be a newborn plus summer holidays so all four all day for 6 weeks I know that will happen at some point but diff with a newborn but then a baby born in September would be a late school starter, I have a friend who's 4th's birthday falls in Sept so she missed school by a day and because she is the fourths her mum feels she was ready for school a lot earlier than the others but had to wait. Makes sense as my dc2 wants to go now and doesn't go for another yr yet.

Prob over thinking it but want to really enjoy it this will be our last.

I had 4 in 6 years, love the fact they are reasonably close together if that helps?

Well I love the fact my three are close and I melt seeing them all interacting with each other and view aren't miles apart in development etc but I did find the first 6months after dc3 hard at times.

Based on these factors part of me wants to go for it now, but not sure if the reality of it would be very hard things like I've never had a double buggy yet etc and don't really want to start now so if dc

If dc is mostly walkIng practically would be easier little things I know but don't want to be buying anything expensive as this will be the last if we are lucky enough to conceive. Saying that dc3 is 15months and my first two were walking everywhere by 2 anyway.

I much preferred having a baby over the summer hols than being heavily pregnant. I had 6 weeks quiet time over the last half of term at home with the baby, and then hit the ground running when he was 6 weeks. I'd been 41 weeks over half term, and could barely walk, so 2 kids plus baby was much easier if you see what I mean?

We mostly did easy stuff for the summer, long days in the park, rainy days baking and watching dvds. Our holiday was a week in Manchester with my cousin. How glamourous!

I really enjoyed doing it like that, even though up until then I'd worked nearly full time so had never looked after 2 children for an extended period, let alone 3. In fact I enjoyed it so much, I'm hoping to do it all over again next year.

Congratulations threecurrants, after reading some of your posts around here, I'm glad to hear you're going for it!!

Despite DS3 being only 5 months I'm already broody so I'll be interested in everyone's opinions. I'm going to try to hold off till DS is 2, if I can. I think if you can plan your pregnancies you are a lucky person! I certainly haven't managed that...

I've found a sling and a buggy easier than a double buggy for the school run (the double buggy stays in the car for longer trips). DD1 is a Sept baby and I'm glad I've had longer with her at home. I enjoy her company! We start school so early in the UK anyway.

Aww thank you nIcobean really lovely post and your right if you can plan your pregnancies then you are lucky. Ds dc3 came along a little early than we had planned then plan was to wait until dc1 was bt school but glad he came along when he did.

I think a Sept baby would be best for all of us with dc 1 and 2 at school and hot to be better to start school late instead of really early? Saying that I know dc2 will love school even though she will still be one of the younger ones.

If we decide to plan for an arrival Sept 12 that means trying at the end of the year just seems so long away
