DS2 - spontaneous labour 40+8, 4 hours, TENS and birthing pool (he was born in the water), 2nd degree tear but didn't have stitches. This was all in the same room that DS1 was born in.

DS3 - spontaneous labour 40+6, 8 hours, TENS, entonox and a epidural that I demanded during transition but never worked. No stitches.

Fingers crossed you get your homebirth hun. I am pencilled in for this one too. The consultant was a bit [hmmm] about it being no6. But my MW who I have had for the last 3 babies, said I was at no more risk than anyone else for PPH, so why not hey ;)

fingers crossed for your home birth here too, Smile

mumtoxii · 22/03/2011 13:31

Rilly, I had numbers 11 and 12 at home, without any problems. Use me as an example when they say bleeding is much worse as you have more children, I bled much less!!!!

ds2 - induced by ARM 39+3 due to gd, G&A, 2.30 hours labour followed by crash section due to scar rupture, 9lb 8, very long recovery, baby fine.

pinkclouds · 25/03/2011 10:19

DD1, Induced at 40+5 due to PE, was 3cm dilated with no pain when they gave me pessary!!, Diamorphine, G&A, 45 mins from first twinge, episiotomy (cut through an artery) stitches.

DS1, 40+5, planned homebirth, spontaneous labour, 1hr from first twinge, G&A, no problems.

DS2, 40+5, Planned water birth at home, spontaneous labour, G&A, 1.5hrs from first twinge, no problems, delivered in water. (apart from having to have pool half filled for 2 days so it only needed topped up!)

DS3, Planned home birth, guessing I'll be 5 days over GrinGrinGrin

GaribaldiGirl · 27/03/2011 20:00

ninja, wow! hope looking after them all is better than birthing them!

my stories:-

DD1 - induced at 41 weeks. 13 hours, epidural.
DD2 - self induced with castor oil at 42 weeks, 6 hours, epidural. my best labour, but followed by retained placenta.
DS1 - self induced with castor oil at 42 weeks. 50 minute labour, no pain relief, he came out so fast he had one of those funny cone heads. ripped to shreds and couldn't walk for weeks.
DS2 - self induced with castor oil at 42 weeks. 5 hour labour, bled all the way through so not pleasant. no pain relief. no stitches.
DD3 - spontaneous labout at 41 weeks (hooray!), 6 hour labour, Gas and Air. Epidural needle inserted about 1 minute before baby born so didn't get the lovely numbing stuff in time.

i would not recommend castor oil, although it clearly worked to get things started. don't know why i used it 3 times!!! think i always got irrationally annoyed at being pregnant weeks after due date and desperate to get on with it.

i'm done now.

can i just add that my mirena coil fell out a few days ago. what does that say about my undercarriage after all these births???!!!

threecurrantbuns · 29/03/2011 13:23

DD1- Spontaneous 39+1, birth centre, 4hrs, G&A, Didnt move from the birthing ball until she was coming out then a swift move to be delivered on a birthing stall.

DD2- Planned homebirth, Spontaneous 39+6, 1hr15, G&A (alot) bloody painful she had her arm over her face dont know if thats why but god it hurt! Placenta took 59min to arrive luckily just in time as they were preparing to send me off to hospital. But overall a lovely experience.

DS-1 - Spontaneous 39+2, was at a childrens party doing musical bumps at 430pm when it all started rang ahead to birth centre to fill pool arrived at 5pm just in time for ds to be delivered in the pool at 512pm. Wish i had known how must relief the pool gave the first two times.

Insanitybecomesme · 29/03/2011 21:11

DS1- induced at 37wks because of hind water rupture, waters were broken at 10am as I was already 3cm dilated on examination he arrived at 1.42pm, used a tens machine for pain relief, lovely birth really. weighed 7lb 8oz

DS2- spontaneous labour at 40+5, 2hr labour with tens then G+A, crash call as delivered due to cord round neck resusitated within 2 mins and we were told all was ok thankfully, but I did have 2nd degree tear which was sore for a while. weighed 8lb 10oz

DD3- spontaneous labour at 39+5wks tens then gas and air truly awful labour that lasted six hours, she got stuck with true shoulder dystocia only way to get her out as for the midwife to cut me and manually turn her to free the stuck shoulder, DD needed resuscitating which took a lon time 10 mins+ then spent a week in SCBU, I had to go to theatre to be stitched as 3rd degree tear and cut, also had PPH. I vowed never again. weighed 9lb 11oz

DS3- section at 38wks as consultant believed baby as around same weight as DD1, weighed 9lbs 7oz. Section was awful lost lots of blood as I was difficult to sew up, gained an infection and was subject to a student aneathetist whom inserted spinalin wrong place so had ssues with that, took months to recover said never again.

DS4 & DD2- section at 36+6 as DS was transverse and blocking exit very apprehensive but fab section up and about 24hrs later, DS weighed 7lb 2oz and DD about 6lb 3oz not sure as they messed up weighing her that or she gained over 1lb in 24hrs. I said never again and Dh had snip straight after before we ended up with another set of twins or triplets.

mygirllollipop · 31/03/2011 20:49

DD1 - 41wks spontaneous labour, 15hrs 21mins, G&A, episiotomy, stitches
DD2 - 39+4 spontaneous labour, ?OP?, 22hrs 28mins, G&A, pethidine (work of the devil!), episiotomy, stitches
DS1 - 38wks, induced at 9am, labour really began about 2-3pm, born 11.35pm, OP with arm extended by face, tear and labial graze (hellishly painful - from being raked by ds's nails all the way down), G&A
DS2 - TBC

I don't really 'do' short labours. More's the pity.

snotdroolanddirtybums · 01/04/2011 15:39
