When to get a bigger car

Hi,

Any words of wisdom? DD will be 3.6 and DS will be 5.4 when DC3 is due. We need to change cars but not quite sure what to do. In theory we plan to have 4 DC, but we'll see how we go with 3.

Currently we have an Avensis estate but that will have to go as the shape of the seats rules out three across the back (you can't even seat two car seats and a thin person). Other car is a Zafira so we'll keep that.

So do we go for 5 seaters now or just jump straight to 5/7 seaters?

TIA

Have got 3 DC (5, 3 and 14 weeks) have got an eight year old much loved Citroen picasso, can fit booster seat, infant carrier and stage 2 car seat in the back easily, lots of leg room and in the boot I can fit icandy chassis with carry cot, maclaren buggy and changing bags, coats etc.

Back seat also comfortably fits 2 car seats plus adult.

We have deliberated over cars, we think that we'll probably go on to have 4th baby and have decided that's when we'll make the jump to 7 seater.

We (2 parents, 4 kids) managed with a 5seater estate for 2 years after DC4 was born -- I wish we still had it, tbh! Similar age gaps as you, actually, for first 3 DC.
