As the title says really.

I have 3 children - aged 13days, 4yrs and 5yrs

Am considering another (would be the last baby) in a few yrs but want to start planning/saving soon.

Could you advise please?

I don't know cos I went from 2 to 4 in one go as my third child was twins! Four is very different from two LOL. Did you ever see Child of My Time where that family had 3 kids and then had triplets? Hmmmmm....worth a thought....

The only difference for me was having to buy a bigger car to fit us all in.

dc4 fitted in as though she had always been there, but so have dc5 and dc6

Dc 4 just slotted in for the first 17 months and then she learnt to walk

She then considered herself on a par with the middle 2 and became challenging!

She has definately completed our family

I went from 2 to 4 in one go aswell with twins but I think 4 is hard work. It usually means bigger house, car and expense on things such as family days out/holidays. I imagine 3 to be alot easier and my friends with 3 don't seem as chaotic!!!

just to add I have 5 now, DC 5 the hardest so far as he had severe reflux and never slept for months on end!!!

You have a 2 week old baby and you're already thinking of another? Respect. You must have a bum of steel!

Thanks for all your replies.

If we did have another baby it wouldn't be for at least 4-5years as I'm really not a fan of double pushchairs having struggled for months with dd and ds when they were small - in fact that was the reason we waited til ds was out of his buggy before ttc #3.

We live in a decent sized 3bed house that could easily accommodate a 4th child - even if it pops out another boy, we would definitely have to buy a larger car but we were going to do that anyway so thats not a problem.

My sister has 4 children and she says its easier with 4 as there is always a partner for them to play with/share a room with (she had 2 boys and 2 girls).

Plenty of time to decide - nothing stopping me from saving now - even if we don't have another child there will be a nice little pot of cash there for us, maybe for a holiday or a trip to Disneyland or somewhere.

Thanks again.
