I feel a lot of things, but mostly just deflated and sad.

Agreed. I posted in another thread on this board, but I can’t understand why they can’t see the hypocrisy in declaring that people have the right to self-determine while passing a motion that seeks to deny Jewish people that same right.

It’s feeling stressful, to be honest, the blatant antisemitism.

I didn’t know there was another thread. Please can you post the link? I don’t even know what to say. The despondency will fade I’m sure, but WTAF?

Apologies, I wasn’t clear. I posted on the anti-semitism thread. It’s good you’ve started this thread.

Veyoy · 05/10/2026 12:27

Thanks. Sorry, I misunderstood.

Does anyone know if there’s a rally or event this weekend? I’ve looked at the CAA social media and can’t see anything.
With love and solidarity.

Hiya. Was just coming on here to reflect on the Holborn and St Pancras bi-election in light of Green motion and thought maybe this thread would do same thing.

relate to deflated and sad feeling @Veyoy

I can’t decide if the by-election result expresses more or less anti-semitism. On the one hand the Greens lost after their vote but on the other hand the Jewish candidate lost albeit to a candidate who is more moderate than the Jewish candidate when it comes to the concept of Anti-Zionism.

Or maybe I’m overthinking it and in this case it’s not about us at all and voters were just thinking more broadly whether they preferred Labour or Greens. Which would be nice…

Edited

I grew up in the consistency and was honestly shocked that ZP thought he could win it. Growing up, a potato would have been elected for Labour ahead of anyone else. I don’t think the result tells us much, other than that the area has not changed as much as ZP might think.

Anyway, I have been avoiding reading about this motion for weeks (?) but finally ended up hearing him with Kuenssberg today. I feel so deflated. I would love to support the Green Party for so many reasons, but then stuff like this happens and it feels so alienating that they don’t even take time to understand our community.

Kind of appalling that their motion “defines Zionism” on their terms to fit with their hatred rather than taking any time to actually define it.

Anyway, off to put my head back in the sand for as long as possible.

Did you see that they’re now saying Hamas isn’t a terror organisation? I have no idea how they came to that conclusion
