I know it’s not the done thing, but do we always have to accept the timeslot given by the burial society (London, England)?

Not sure. When my mother died her burial was delayed a few days due to people needing to travel to get to the funeral. Also London. We are Reform btw. Orthodox may be different.

Thank you. We are Masorti, so not orthodox. I was hoping to delay by a day.

Msy be too late now but when my mum died (a long time ago), they (united synagogue)!wanted the funeral the next day (died a weds afternoon) and I asked for it to be the Friday morning and they begrudgingly complied. I think nowadays it’s not quite as rushed esp as new laws have come in wrt the death certificate.
Wishing you long life.
