Holocaust inversion

I'm so sorry to post in your space, as a non Jew. For what it's worth, I've written to MN about the growing antisemitism in the form of holocaust inversion. I think you all should expect clarity on their guidelines, with specific reference to users comparing contemporary conflict with the holocaust. I don't know if anybody has had feedback about this?

Thank you @Dangermoo. I will say that whenever I've reported posts that use the Holocaust to attack Jews, Mumsnet has deleted them but depending on the timing (evenings, weekends etc.) it can take a really long time for them to act. I also never go near the CITME board because I'd just spend my time reporting all the hate. I would love Mumsnet to take a more proactive approach to moderation (not just regarding antisemitism). Their current approach seems to be allowing the whole platform to grow increasingly hostile.

@Dangermoo ive noticed for a long time how you’ve been an amazing ally to Jewish people (fellow non Jew ally here). You’re absolutely right - I’m fed up of the Holocaust being used to attack Jewish people. Especially when being compared to a co flit that is utterly incomparable. It’s the most sickening form of antisemitism. of all the atrocities in the world to compare to, I wonder why they pick the Holocaust then have the nerve to say they aren’t antisemitic

I mean, its also really stupid.

We know what genocide looks like.

We know what concentration camps look like.

We know what starvation looks like.

Non-Jews might not but any Jewish person who has been to/read/ seen their fair share of holocaust lectures/books/movies is extremely familiar with what a starving person looks like. And the difference between war and genocide. We've probably visited a concentration camp.

Dilbertian · 27/08/2025 14:19

The starvation in Gaza is apparently so bad that the pictures released by Hamas of an adult so starving that he looks like a concentration camp prisoner, are of a Jewish hostage.

Dilbertian · 27/08/2025 14:20

Holocaust appropriation, rather than inversion.

Thegreatestoftheseislove · 01/09/2025 09:54

There is another thread, elsewhere on the site, memorialising all the children who have died in Gaza. The poor innocent victims of being the human shield used by the murderous Hamas. It is heartbreaking. Out of a sense of balance, to remind any reader of ‘two sides to every story’ and for the poor Jewish innocents who have been victims of Hamas, I posted a link to name all the Jewish deaths. My post was deleted. I am not Jewish, but I despair at times at all the anti-semitism. It is clear that some deaths have more ‘value’ than others.

Thank you. I did actually disappear for a while because I needed a break away from this awful place. I deleted my account rather than stepped back. Fortunately, I was able to return to continue my support x
