Don't forget to vote on Thursday and hopefully on Saturday!

Yuval Raphael needs our support!

Is there a live Eurovision heats thread? I thought Iceland were good. Would like to see them go through to Saturday.

Diamond82 · 13/05/2025 22:22

Oh yes thanks for reminding me to vote on Thursday! I’ve looked at a couple of Eurovision threads but there’s too many people piping up about how outraged they are that Israel have not been disqualified 😴😴

My son and I heard it and both looked at each other and said "I recognise this song!". It turns out it's very similar to a Hebrew song my husband often listens to in the car 🙃

With regards to voting for Israel, I'm a Eurovision purist and refuse to participate in political voting. To be fair, I also refuse to vote non-politically as there's no way I'm spending money on this guilty pleasure 😂 I'm glad she performed so well though!

Anyway, nothing will ever beat Finland's performance from last year so I may as well just stop watching the show really.

My family is a bit obsessed with the Swedish sauna song, it makes me think of Monty Python.

Yuval Raphael was amazing (but am I the only one that thought the song sounded a bit sped up?). So glad she's gone through to the next round.

gingergran · 17/05/2025 19:15

I love the Swedish song - it’s been stuck in my head all day. I hope Yuval does really well and does not suffer the horrible behaviour from the audience last year. I don’t understand why all flags, other than those of the participating countries, are not allowed. It is cheesy song fest after all and politics should be kept out (although its always been interesting to see which countries always give 12 points to their neighbours!)

Ukraine. Flares! That's all I've got. Estonia my favourite so far. Lithuania was like a cross between the shoegazers of the 90's crossed with a futuristic dystopian medical unit. Israel- beautiful voice but preferred last year.

Diamond82 · 17/05/2025 21:42

I thought UK was pretty awful unfortunately. I did like Greece. Yuval did great of course

25milesfromhome · 17/05/2025 21:53

The UK was just confusing, it sounded like about three different songs in one. What the hell just happened indeed.

yes it was just all over the place.

Malta was something! That song is actually stuck in my head.

EllaDisenchanted · 17/05/2025 22:22

I liked Greece and Sweden! Can’t vote yuval from here or I’d be voting for her 😅

I was only going to vote 10 times for Israel but when I saw your message I voted another 10, so you voted for Yuval ☺️
Is it me or did the two women look quite cold towards Eden?

Won the public vote and won the UK vote. This is heartwarming 🇮🇱

25milesfromhome · 18/05/2025 00:18

@EllaDisenchanted I hope you're celebrating! Israel definitely won the public vote.

stonecutter · 18/05/2025 00:37

Well done to Yuval

quantumbutterfly · 18/05/2025 01:31

❤️ to Yuval.

Slightly surprised by the winning song, there were some crackingly bonkers entries. Espresso macchiato anyone?

😘😍 thanks @Diamond82 ! Go uk! 🇬🇧

@25milesfromhome i tried so hard to stay up but I was too tired and fell asleep not long before the results came out 😄

gonna watch a replay now 🥳🥳🥳🥳

so happy! 🤩🤩

i actually liked Austria’s song but Sweden’s was so much more fun! I am surprised it didn’t win. Greece I didn’t think would win, but I thought it was lovely; it’s on my playlist now, and I’ll check out her other music too and I’m glad she did so well.

I enjoyed the Swiss presenters, I hadn't appreciated their self-deprecating humour before, and now I hear that LSD & garlic presses are made in Switzerland I can love them for more than their chocolate. (Definitely better than Belgian😁)
